From the time I called in with questions until the time I walked out of the door, I could not have been happier with my experience. When I asked about pricing, I in no way felt belittled or uncomfortable. They were able to see me right away! When I came into the office, they found a room for me to bring my two kitties to wait. As the kitties were none to happy with me, the personal touch and comfort of the space was immensely appreciated. They staff were a great mixture of professional and personal. They taught me about my tabby's markings and were very gentle with both my kitten and cat. I had to estimate the kitten's age as she was a stray, she was insightful and showed remarkable care when handling my kitties. A big thanks to Oceanview, you have a customer for life!
Do not understand why such a place that claims to be so fantastic would hire a girl who worked for another Animal Hospital and stole a dog….Yes, she was asked to watch a six month old puppy because the "mom" (owner) needed a break because the puppy had been sick since birth. So she agreed to watch the puppy temporarily, then resigned stole the puppy and went into hiding….Even dyed her hair dark red, cancelled her Facebook page, etc., etc. Well, now we all know who was desperate enough to hire a technician without getting the facts, Oceanview Veterinary Hospital!! FYI- She likes expensive puppies...
Our dog has visited this facility several times over the last 3 years for general checkups, boarding and most recently surgery. Their quality of care for all facets has been excellent! Additionally, they are cognizant that most people don’t have pet insurance but at the same time want the best for their furry friends. I trust both vets and can’t say enough pleasant things about the rest of their staff. Recently, they were able to squeeze in an emergency surgery and have been super about answering all our questions about his post-operative care. I brought my dog back for the first time after the surgery and his tail was still wagging; he wasn’t scared at all. That’s when you know you’ve found a great place! Thanks for being so great to my puppers!
I have gone here for about 3 years for care for my two pups (and once for a stray cat I found). Both my pups have had dental work done here as well. The quality of the care is great & their prices are decent enough. I trust their doctors & they have a wonderful staff. I've easily spent well over $3000 in the past 3 years (dental work can rack up quite a bill, along with 3-year vaccinations & a pup with some skin issues). My one complaint is about a recent event. One of my pups managed to knock a tooth loose. He was in visible pain & their first available appointment was a day later. I asked if I could get one tablet of tramadol (pain killer) - a 24 hours dose for him since he was barely eating (which for this dog means there's something very wrong). They said they couldn't do this without seeing him...I have never made such a request from them & he was just in two months ago for his shots & whatnot - so I'm still pretty bothered by the inability to give him something until they could see him. I could've even brought him in & wobbled the tooth for them & let them give him the first dose (at the front counter). I'm taking him to a different vet to address the tooth issue and since their closer if I end up liking them I will probably make a full switch to them.
The folks at Oceanview Vet are awesome people who love animals and offer the best possible care for your furry companions. I cannot say enough good things. I've been bringing my cat and dog here for years and have only positive experiences to share. The environment is calm, quiet, and relaxed, so if your buddies get anxious at the vet like mine do, good luck finding a better place to bring them. All of the staff are great, from the front desk folks who remember our names to the amazing vet techs are incredible; if you are lucky enough to meet them you will see what I mean! Our vet is Dr. knapke and we love him, but doctor Kane is also wonderful, patient, intuitive, and highly skilled. Dr. knapke helped us to find the best supplements and diet for her needs, and since making these changes my dog's condition has not only stabilized, but has improved rather markedly. We have also done dental cleanings and extractions here and a surgery to remove tumors, all without complication. Also, they are not only attentive while you are in the office, but they call to follow-up and are very responsive by phone. I feel good about supporting them because it means happier, healthier lives for my pets, and peace of mind for me. I appreciate them so much!
