i found a coupon online for a free office exam for first time patients. in my paperwork i indicated i wanted to learn more about their wellness plan (i was curious!) and the girl at the front desk said, “Your paperwork says you want to purchase a wellness plan?”, “Um, no, just wanted to know how much it is.” So she led me into the room with my cat and gave me a 5 minute sales pitch on the wellness plans. i thanked her and then a nurse came in, asked some questions, then gave me the sales pitch again. then the vet came in, checked out my cat, and game me the sales pitch again. vet left, nurse finished up, and reminded me about the plan again. was able to muster up the courage to deny all services (except a mandatory rabies vaccine since the cat hadn’t had one in the last two years). the people themselves were not my issue. the nurse seemed competent and was friendly with my cat, and the vet seemed knowledgeable and polite. the thing that upset me about this visit is it was extremely high pressure to get on the wellness plan. when i objected that i wanted to check other vet’s prices, they even had a comeback that involved listing the individual prices for all the services included in the plan and took another 3/4 minutes to do that. Another thing i found annoying, if i would have signed up for the wellness plan + preventative (or whatever its called), i would’ve had to pay the annual fee (close to $25 a month or $300 one time) PLUS a $70 member enrollment fee. really? an enrollment fee? for what, two minutes of typing my information in the computer? no thanks. if you want to add $70 to the charge of the plan, do it in the annual/monthly fee, but don’t patronize me so much as to say that enrolling me is a $70 job. and the front desk girl said that if i “bought today $15 would be removed from the enrollment fee”. High pressure sales throughout the entire visit. The last thing that annoyed me was i was told the cost of the rabies vaccine would be $14.95, (which it was) but my bill had a $3 charge added for ‘medical waste disposal’, which i suppose meant throwing away the syringe used to administer the vaccine. now i admit, $3 is a pretty small amount to get upset at, but after all the sales crap i just went through, to find out they tell me a rabies vaccine will cost $14.95 when every vaccine ever administered there adds a $3 waste fee they neglect to tell you about, it just ruffled my already raised feathers. i didn’t schedule a follow up visit, and i’m pretty sure i wont. i also asked for estimates of the services they said “needed” to be done so i can compare them to other vets.

The puppy plan and pet insurance is a great idea and saves u alot of money but everytime you go in for an office visit they find something to say ur dog needs medicine which u end up walking out paying $100 for something the dog didn't need

We took our puppy in today and the Dr. And nurses were kind and informative. The savings on the puppy plan looked like a good bet, even with the $99 start up fee. We are happy to have our puppy in good hands and will write again after our next set of shots in 3 weeks and neuter in 6 weeks.
