I explained before I even came to make an appointment that I was a college student and was on a budget for obvious reasons. They explained to me that they don't take any extra steps with testing unless I approve of the bill and that the office visit was $44. That felt fair, so I made an appointment for my cat. What I was not told, however, is how they guilt you while you're in the exam room to pay for testing. I originally went because my cat had black gunk in his ears, which I thought were ear mites. They told me they could do a cytology for x amount of money. I said fine. After they took the swab of his ears and started processing it, they said to me, "Most of the time, cats with ear mites are homeless cats so I doubt this is what it is. It's probably fungal." Wow, what a surprise, it came back to be a yeast infection... So basically, they knew what it was all along but withheld their opinion of it until AFTER they tested and billed me... Moments later, the same thing happened. My cat is over-weight, and they told me, "I recommend you get his thyroid checked because you could have serious health problems if it goes un-examined"... What the hell am I suppose to say to that? No? So this is where I say they guilt you as a pet owner to get more money out of you. I said fine, run the test. If you really think it could be a problem, yes, go ahead. So they take my cat back to get blood and urine, and Dr. H-something who is a female and only is in the clinic every other 3 weeks (not Dr. Holloway), came back after they started the testing and said to me, "Usually with a thyroid disease, the cat is usually very thin and active and eats a lot, so Ewok doesn't seem to be the poster child for that disease"... Okay, then why the hell did you run tests for it if you don't think he has it?! They completely took advantage of me by dangling the thought of serious health issues in the future in front of me, but then turn around after they get the money from me and say that what they told me isn't ACTUALLY an issue... My vet bill came out to $223... That was for the vet visit, the cytology, the urine and blood work, and the medicated ear drops. Low and behold, all of the tests came back NEGATIVE. I'm disgusted with their non-existent integrity and the way they conned me. Oh, and not only that, but now he's vomiting because of some antihistamines I've been giving him for allergies. I called the vet clinic that administered the allergy medication (a different place because I was out of town when he developed a sneeze and was worried about an upper respiratory infection) and they gave me their advice, so then I called Southside Animal Clinic for a second opinion and they basically told me, "Dr. H (the woman) is the one who saw Ewok so she's the only one who would be able to talk to you about him. Oh, but she's not going to be here for 3 weeks." So I ask if there's a personal number I could call to speak to her and they told me NO. They couldn't give me any freaking advice even after getting $223 out of me. None! It's disgusting what they're doing and how they're treating their "patients". I solely went to this place because of the great reviews it has about how they care about your pet, but that's obviously a bunch of shit. They want your money and that's it. Whether you take my review seriously or not, I am not exaggerating one bit about the words exchanged or the situations at hand. They completely took advantage of me and have absolutely no conscious. They don't care about your pet, and they don't care about you.

Dr. Holloway and his staff provide a friendly, attentive experience for pet owners. I took my mini-dachshund for skin issues and the staff was very helpful. There was no wait when I arrived for my appointment and every staff member I encountered was friendly. A big plus is that they are reasonably priced! I definitely will be a long-term customer.

I am extremely impressed with Dr. Holloway and the staff at Southside Animal Clinic. I was a frantic mommy of a four year old dog calling to schedule a new patient appointment and they were able to schedule me for the same day. They are accommodating to your schedule and if they keep your pet throughout the day, they call to keep you informed on how your pet is doing. In fact, Dr. Holloway himself spoke to me on the phone and told me bit by bit what he discovered about my dog's health and how he plans on clearing up the issue. Southside Animal Clinic's staff are sweet and gentle, and you can really tell they love making sure the pets and their owners are taken proper care of. I will be using this vet from now on, and feel confident my dog is in good hands.

We love Southside Animal Clinic!! From the clean appearance of the office, to the friendly front desk and Dr. Holloway, our experience was fantastic! We had seen another vet in town and never felt as though they cared a great deal for our pets. Dr.Holloway spent time explaining treatment and didn't mind that we still had questions. He was patient with us and I'm confident he was thorough in his treatment for our dog. Our pets are part of our family and I appreciated that they were treated as such. We have found our new vet and can't wait for our check-up in 2 weeks. Thank you guys!
