Dr. K's Animal Hospital provides the care THEY feel is appropriate for your animal regardless of if you are in agreement. We are loving caring parents of a 7 year old basset hound, we have been receiving care from Dr. K's for approx 1 year with a total spent around $1000.00 for general care. We are always on board with doing what is best for our dog. We recently boarded him for 5 days while taking a business trip, we were quoted a specific amount to update his shots and we added a nail trim for $10; we were told this price plus boarding would be our total. We confirmed pricing prior to drop off. They contacted us day 1 to inform us "Dr. K went ahead and completed his annual exam and would like the go ahead to treat his ear infection". We informed the staff we were not told he would be getting an annual exam (as it was not time for it/or needed), we also informed the staff we felt we should not pay for the exam since they did not ask prior to completing & we keep the prescription drops for his ears at home and treat regularly (as ear infections are common in the breed), we let them know we would treat him on pick up once home. We were told this was okay and that we would see them on pickup. All is well right?! No. On pick up my husband was told they charged us $50 for the annual exam and treated the ear infection, they also informed my husband they separated our dog into isolation due to "contamination" re to his ear infection. Dr. K himself began an argument with my husband in the lobby refusing to remove the charge and repeating that the dog contaminated the entire clinic and caused a problem due to infection, my husband felt if the dog had something so severe (which an ear infection is not) that the dog should not be present in a space with other dogs they should have informed us we could not board him. It is HORRIBLE business for Dr. K to treat your dog when you told him not to, then charge you for that treatment, then yell at you as if you are an owner who is not caring. They were rude and charged us for the annual exam and ear infection. We WILL NOT RETURN. We hope that others will take the time to find a different vet that respects the views of the owner and does not charge the patient for things without discussing it first.

Dr.K and his staff took really great care of my cat, Zane, while he was struggling with a blocked bladder. He had to stay at the animal hospital over night and he was taken in as if he was their own pet. The doctor took the time to explain to me thoroughly what my Zane was going through and his staff kept me posted on his well being while he was away from me. I couldn't have asked for a better Vet.

I have many pets. One cat I have seems to have issues with vets. Leo can be...well, difficult. In other vet offices, he tore down pictures in the exam room, bit and scratched everyone, and was a general terror. I kept switching vets out of embarrassment. Eventually, I found Dr. K, and took Leo for an exam and shots. Leo settled down immediately in the exam room. This vet has a sense and compassion that works for animals and their people. Leo is now a happy, healthy, and a mellow 18 year old MaineCoon. I can't imagine taking my animal friends anywhere else.

Have a puppy that was treated for Coccidia and pd.$350 in 1 week. Later found another Clinic that is way more interested in animal care than insane pricing!
