We are visiting the area from Canada. With us were our two cats. Five years ago, Sahara was diagnosed with lymphoma. We knew that, when the cancer really got aggressive, it would be quick. Never did we expect it to be in a "strange" place, with no known vet. We were so fortunate to have picked the Kissimmee Animal Hospital and to have been attended to by Dr. Prather. He and his assistant (whose name, I'm ashamed, I've forgotten) were kind, professional, and caring. They helped us say good bye to Sahara and respected and understood our grief. Thank you to everyone at the hospital.
I've taken three dogs here over a period of 31 years. One dog, a Lab, lived to be 14, and enjoyed more months of life after being diagnosed with mouth cancer, than even the vets expected. This was in part to their care throughout her life and our care, guided by the doctors. Our current Lab is approaching her 13th birthday. Again, it's teamwork between you and the doctors. Dr. Borgman and his staff have shown nothing but care and compassion for our four-footed family members.
This vet saved my dog! I took my dog there for his routine first routine check up and shots. The office is clean and the doctors and staff are so nice. It is great to have people who care about my dog as much as I do. The vet did a thorough exam and blood work, which revealed that my dog's kidneys don't work well. They did more tests (x-rays and ultrasound) and explained everything to me. I found out what I needed to do to keep him around as long as I can. I was so glad that they did blood work and not just the basic heartworm test because I would have never known until my dog died. Yes, the services aren't the cheapest, but I think you get what you pay for. I will definitely recommend them to anyone.
I received my puppy, Yahbash, at 3 weeks old and have been using this facility for the past 4 years. I find the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful. I especially liked the way they taught me how to handle various behavior problems that had arisen. Their prices are OK also. Lorraine
My dog died a few days after taking him here. This place was useless. There were so many things wrong with the staff and the veterinarian of this hospital. I adopted my dog named Tommy about three months before I took him here and one day while at work, I had found out that my dog had been hit by a car. My dog is a poodle/terrier mix and was the joy of my very sick mother. My brother rushed with my dog over to the hospital for them to bandage his leg and hold him there for four days and charge us a massive amount of money for his treatment. The staff of the clinic lacked compassion and caring for my dog. When they reached the conclusion that my dog would not make it, they called us and told us that they had to euthanize my dog. I went to the hospital to get my dog and rather have me see my dog before he was put down, they immediately served me with the paperwork. I was very upset and demanded to see my dog. I could not believe that my dog did not have a chance because they did not give us a valid reason why he could not make it. I then demanded to take my dog to another clinic. They refused to give me my dog even thought they had stated that there was nothing they could do to help my dog. I demanded to speak to the vet who was to busy in a "meeting" to come and address us. He wanted to charge us over 700.00 dollars for treatment that did nothing for my dog, when I had already received the invoice of 400.00 dollars. He refused to surrender my dog and after paying his fee he then called ASPCA and sent them to my home because he claimed that I took my dog away from him while it he was being treated. First off, he stated he could no longer help my dog and argued with us and yelled at my family and I treating us as if we were incompetent. Second, him and his staff lacked the compassion and caring as well as the professionalism to speak to us about the situation properly. They were rude and did not care that my dog was going through pain. All the time, the vet kept demanding that we pay him. I took my dog after that and went over to the animal hospital on Dundee Road where the nurses there showed love towards my dying dog and sat us down and explained to us what was going to happen. I had my dog put down that day and cremated. I lost a member of my family that day. I owe my thanks to the workers of the animal hospital on Dundee Road who took care of my dying dog that day. But for the Animal Hospital in Kissimmee (403 Vine St specifically), I do hope that they get closed down. I do not understand how they could treat an animal and its family like that. Unbelievable. I do hope no one ever takes their dog there for treatment. I know that I will never take another pet there.
