This place is well priced for what you are getting. You do not need a 5 star resort for a vet clinic. Most Vet's in the area call themselves hospitals when in fact close at a certain time and can not reach them after or do not have all equipment to do all surgeries. So if you want a 5 star resort you are going to pay for it. All those others who are smart and look to get simple service from a vet like shots, and medicine because you can not buy them anymore like you use too, again which is just another reason to make people visit the vets office, this place is a great choice. They do the work needed and do it right. Then charge you an understandable few. I look my kitten there to be declawed. They charged me almost half of what the other offices charged and was done very well. They even kept him over night and the other places would charge extra for that. Not to mention the price included a rabies shot. The doctor is a bit of a character but he knows his stuff and does a great job. For some he may take a little getting used to, kind of looks like (back to the futures) Doc's little brother. :)
I had to update my 6 yr old puggle on all her shots to allow our move into a new apt. in the area. I was able to make the appt. on short notice. The price I was quoted (very cheap) was the same price I paid at the end of the visit. The desk help was knowledgable and friendly!! The place looked busy when I first arrived, but only waited about 10 min. They vet's assistant came in to take temp, and blood, and they offer a nail trip for 10 bucks!! They vet was extremely friendly and offered outstanding advise. She had an ear infection and to take care of that was a small fee of 29.00. I left there happy and will spread the word of such a great place to bring my pet! I will be back!! :)
Mayfair Pet Hospital is a double wide trailer behind a house. I'm not sure this is where I want to take my pet if he needs surgery.
My cat had broken his leg and i needed a vet quick and called Mayfair. they got me in immediately and made my kitten Tony feel better immediately. For 250 dollars they did xrays, put a cast on him and also kept him overnight for observation. I would recommend them to anyone thats not rich and can pay thousands of dollars for ripoff vets that care even less about your animal. I feel very comfortable bringing tony back for years to come.
I took my dog there at first because she was a stray we found, were not sure about keeping her, and didn't have a lot of money to spend at the time. They gave her her shots and the lady who helped us was knowledgeable and pleasant, but it ended there. The vet was very hands-off and when I asked him a question, he told me to ask the tech and he walked out. It gets WAY worse - after deciding she was part of our family permanently, I dropped her off to have her spayed. The front desk girls were very disengaged and barely moved to assist me. I was hesitent but I left her there and went to work. Around 9am, I get a phone call from them that they cannot spay her because she is in heat. Ok - I told them I would have my husband pick her up. They called me back a few minutes later and asked if I could wait and pick her up around 4pm. When I asked why the woman told me she was still under effects of anesthesia. Are you kidding me?? You put my dog to sleep before you even checked her. I was livid. So I go there at 4pm to pick her up, they bring her out, hand her to me, and never said a word. No apology for needlessly subjecting my dog to anesthesia. They just said bring her back in a month when she is done with heat. I was (and still am) so angry. What kind of operation are they running there? I would not take her back there if they were the only vet left in central Florida. Although they are a bit more expensive, I am going back to Boggy Creeek Animal Hospital where they cared for my previous dog (who died at age 15yr) and me with the utmost dignity and respect. I even got a very nice sympathy card signed by the vet after Tyler passed away. Now THAT'S what a veterinary practice should be, not some sorry excuse for a vet that Mayfair is. Again, if you care anything about your pet, do not go to Mayfair. Sooo not worth the money you might save.
