I met Dr. Bell 9 years ago when I moved over here from Pinellas Park. I had seeked out several veterinarians but they just were not true to the heart for the care of my animals. When seeing Dr. Bell and his staff they were very informative and told me everything I needed to know. If I had any questions they took the time with me to answer and explain. It's very hard for me to get my animals there for their shots now. I'm disabled and I cannot get out of bed anymore. They are overdue for their shots and I have to work something out on how to get them there. When I was able to drive there they used to come out to my vehicle and get them for me. I need to call them and try to work something out so I don't lose my dog's doctors. I will forever go there and forever advise people to seek them out. From Michele, My dogs names are Scooter and Sheba. Thank you.
Having gone to Dr. Bell for about 7 years now, I felt it only right to extol the virtues of Dr. Bell and his wonderful staff, particularly James and Andrea. I love them all. My dachshund, Daisy is 17 years old now and wouldn't be here if not for Dr. Bell, for he most certainly saved her life when another vet (this was a vet at an emergency vet office) told me to take her home where she would most certainly die. As soon as the clinic opened I was there and Dr. Bell pulled her through. That was 4 years ago. I have since moved to another part of Lakeland but I still take my fur babies to Dr. Bell and can't imagine going to anyone else. He took care of Daisy very recently for cellulitis and she is doing great. He is a kind, caring and compassionate man whose love for animals shines through.
I was taking my yorkie Buffy to Mr. Bell, I refuse to call him Dr. She had an abnormal bony growth on her right side and I asked him about it. He took xrays and sent them to a specialist to be read. When the report came back, he told me it was a birth defect, that it was harmless and nothing to be concerned about. I trusted him and believed him. I mentioned it to him about 6 mos later and he said the subject was closed. Due to some other instances, one being a very hateful receptionist, I started taking Buffy to another vet. Things went along for about 5 yrs. Then one day I noticed a larger lump in that same spot. The vet xrayed it and said it was an osteosarcoma on her ribs. In other words, it was bone cancer. To make sure, 3 biopsies were sent out and they all came back positive. I thought I was going to die. I couldn't believe it. I went to an oncologist, it was already stage 3 and they couldn't do anything. I got the films Bell took, and when I read the pathology, I was shocked. It was recommended films be taken every 6 mos and the area was to be palpated at EVERY visit. HE DID NOT DO ANY OF THIS. The pathologist the biopsies were sent to said that these bony growths usually become cancer at about 7 yrs. That is how old Buffy was. I watched this beautiful little girl grow sick and in pain. I had to have her put to sleep. My heart is still broken and always will be. If Bell had not been so smug and arrogant and had done what was recommended, this would not have happened. I BLAME HIM FOR KILLING MY BUFFY!!!
I had brought my dog in there before when he had an allergic reaction, the doctor told me it would get progressively worse and he needed to get in immediately when it started. Since they were only a few blocks away headed up during the most recent reaction, they were just opening they told me they would fit him in later that day?????!!!!! Are you serious? The dogs face was already swollen and his airway was closing, if not for the Benedryl I had already administered he would have died while waiting for their treatment. I drove him 35 miles to another Vet who treated him immediately, I would NEVER go to them again even in an emergency.
