Hello we were in one of your local offices about 5 weeks ago. We had just gotten kittens and need to get a health checkup and get their shots done. When we arrived we saw a vet tech named Alysia?. We had thought that our kittens were both male, and about 6 weeks old. She immediately told us that we were incorrect. The kittens were actually male and female, and they were only 4 weeks old. So we took that as it was and got a stool test and treatment for worms as a preventative. About 5 weeks later we now have gone to the vet that has been recommended by our family/friends, and they have told us that they indeed are 2 males. They are not and were not male and female, they also are more like 12 weeks old which is what we were told by the place that we got them. So I decided to go back in to banfield and talk to the manager, and asked how this could happen. And why if we went in for 3 things, 2 that we know of were completely wrong. She just gave me the usual “job is hard”, was rude, and wouldn’t answer my questions. I will be leaving bad reviews for this place, they have a vet tech that can’t sex a cat or tell its age, and who knows what else they are doing to their customers. It’s quite sad.

I have never written a bad review of a company in my life, I'm not even the type of person that sends back food at a restaurant, no matter what. This review is very out of character for me... Banfield's "wellness plan" is a SCAM! Not only are very few things covered, but they are CONSTANTLY trying to up-sell you on every visit. It's more about their bottom line then it is about your animal. I feel bad for the employees, they are usually really nice, but you can tell there is lots of pressure on them. I called to cancel my plan, my new Petsmart/Banfield is too far away now (because we moved) and also I have been a little disappointed with their service. Upon calling to cancel they notified me that they are now going to continue to bill me for another ENTIRE YEAR, otherwise they will turn me over to collections. I spoke with customer service agent #7512 and she was fully prepared do give me the bad news and had scripted reposes to handle my objections. When I asked for a supervisor she said no and that "they only take voicemails" and that "they will tell me they same thing". The customer care rep did however express that she could see where I was coming from when I asked her "if she thinks Banfield's contracts are misleading and unethical". My wife and I have been customers with the "wellness plan" since 2008 and have given lots of money to both Petsmart & Banfield. The rep was willing to offer me a "free month" if I did NOT cancel, but said she "could do nothing for me" if I continued the cancelation. I went to a local vet for my other dog (a Sheltie) for a well check, blood work and all vaccines for the year. The total visit came to just over $60. Banfield's contracted price for the same services was $291.52. Banfield line items everything so it looks like you are getting more value then you really are. Last thing... my wife usually asked me to go to the Banfield visit with her because she doesn't like to deal with all the pressure from the different up sells from their employees. Very sad when you do so much for a business and they are ruthless in return. Bad business ethics and shady contracts. Buyer Beware!!!

Great staff. Friendly n very caring staff. I take my Maltese there n they work as much as they can to get you in when needed. I love Dr. Rubio, great guy. He seems to have a passion n great knowledge for his patients. I have made him as my favorite Dr. For my little guy. Thanks to all his staff n the Dr.'s caring n knowledge my baby is better today.

No complaints about price or service, all around good place

I have been to Banfields in other states, and I was seriously disappointed with my experience at this Banfield. The staff was rude and cold and treated me like a 3rd rate citizen, the male vet specifically treated us very rudely. I understand that in Florida the dogs need heart worm medication, even though it is not an issue where we came from (my vets at home never even recommended it to me), and even though our dogs tested clean for heart worm, and we came to get on a heartworm medication schedule they were snobby about it. The bill was over $500 to get the kennel cough vaccine for 3 dogs, get the heart worm medication, and heart worm tests, (and single medications not packs). I recently switched to a local vet in Palm Bay where I got the same check up (minus 3 heart worm test but plus 2 rabies shots) and two 6 packs of heartworm medication, ffor around $300. Not to mention this other vet offer to let me buy not the most brand name stuff and offered me options for oral flea and tick medication the vets didn't even mention. Also I didn't wait 2 hours to see them. In addition it was very clear which products the vets were making the commission on, because they were very pushy. I love the 5 start customer wrote how much they "saved," written on the bottom of the receipt. It is just like every other "savings" program where they artificially inflate the price and then "discount" it for you. I didn't mind that as much because I have a had some really good Banfield Vets and they are convenient, but after this experience, I have decided to go elsewhere.
