I ran across these reviews by accident. I would like to clarify the misconceptions that people have. I am a former employee at MVS. I also worked at several other animal hospitals in the area. I can say the the care given to our four legged family members at MVS is far better than anywhere else I have worked. I have worked with Vets that charge for items that they don't use or overcharge for procedures that cost a fraction of what they truly charge the client. As an employee and consumer, I always felt like it was betraying the trust we had with our clients. At MVS that is NOT the case. Is it expensive? Yes it is expensive. You get what you pay for. However, I guarantee you that you will get the most advanced, most highly trained staff, and the most adept Doctors attending to your pet's best interest. Remember that it is your choice to bring your pet to MVS. It is also your choice that you take your pet to another Vet who will sell you down the river for procedures that may not be necessary and he/she may not be properly equipped to handle. At MVS you get the best, hands down. As for procedures that are done without your knowledge? I'm sorry but that is just not true. Before any procedure or treatment is done a detailed estimate is given to the client. Only after the client reviews the estimate is any work started on your pet. The only exception to this is in the case of an emergency and your pet is crashing quick. While you are paying for your initial $500 deposit, the staff is more than likely performing life saving advanced life support to your pet. The deposit is designed to cover the minimal life support charges until a more detailed estimate and approach can be worked up by the Doctor and staff to determine the most appropriate course of medical attention for you loved one. Remember, they have management so you may feel free to speak with them if you are unhappy for one reason or the other. As for the language thing? Well, it is true to some extent. There are some that speak poor English but most are native Floridians that are very professional and skilled at what they do. The best measure of a Doctor is whether or not their staff would feel comfortable under their care. They are the ones who work there day in and day out. I would take my dogs to MVS any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Good job to all the staff at MVS and Happy Holidays to all.
