Wow. We've gone to this vet for about 6-7 years. We are DONE going there! I am so disappointed. We have a rescue dog that just went through her 2nd heartworm treatment. Picked her up, she had a gash over her eye and they had no idea how it got there. Her mouth was practically glued shut because she was so thirsty. I immediately gave her water and she drank and couldn't stop....even when she got home! I measured her food out exactly and had directions taped to the containers and there was a TON left over after only 4 meals so I am convinced they missed feeding her some. What a TERRIBLE experience after paying over $900 in getting her healthy. Last time our other lab went there, they misdiagnosed his eye....sent us to a specialist and we ended up over paying by $400 and the specialist said that it was simply a scratch that needed to heal. The older vet there is great (Patino) but you never get to see him anymore. DONE!

I took a cat I have befriended to hospital as his left hip looked like it was broken or that he had an abscess. Kirkpatrick's was the place I used to take animals for care and and it is still an excellent place to go. Donna, their office manager,and Victor, their senior technician, welcomed me tho' they had not seen me in several years. Dr. Rivera gave my cat a thorough exam, and told me he has cancer. Full disclosure of specific cancer and options were given. No unnecessary tests. Left with the knowledge I needed and medicine to control pain. My bill was less than half what it would have been at most vet clinics. Highly recommend.

Took my dog to this Vet for "cherry eye" because it is so close to home. What a mistake. I should have known by the way the staff answers the phone. They are uncaring and cold. The doctor is arrogant and just keeps insisting on repeat visits at $45.50 a pop just for the exam. He refused to do anything until after he came back from his Christmas vacation while we had to spend our holiday with the dog in terrible discomfort. Imagine if you had a large gland coming out from under you eyelid! How would you feel?? Beware! Plenty of other vets in the area. Call them first!!! Just in case you do not believe me.... Below is the estimate given to me for surgery on a "cherry eye" in one eyeball. After consulting another vet, I was told that surgery is not the only option. With eyedrops and other medication, the "Cherry eye" can go back into place by itself. This option was NEVER given to me by the money hungry arrogant Vet at Kirkpatrick Vet Hospital. Here is the actual estimate give to me: Harderian Gland (tacking/One) $339.50 Preanesthetic injection $20.39 Induction- injection or mask $42.52 Maintenance- Isoflurane gas $42.52 Respiratory monitor $14.07 Hospital injection $22.70 Sterile Instruments/supplies $27.00 MISC $75.00 Vet Test General Profile $109.50 Total $693.20 When I questioned these charges I was told that only the $109.50 charge for bloodwork could be waived if I signed a waiver and the $75.00 misc charge could not be completely explained as to what that included. After listening to the second opinion, guess what!! The "cherry eye" is GONE!! Not only did I save $700 but my dog did not have to go through the trauma of surgery on his little eyeball.

Called for info regarding cremation of my pet and front desk was extremely rude and curt with me because I could barely speak from distress!
