Today my mom decided to put her 16 year old dog down after many weeks of contemplation and sadness. We saw the older Vet doctor, he was despicable and this was the worst experience ever! He didn't reassure us that we were doing the right thing, didn't explain what he was doing or when. Just told the tech to put her on table and then just gave her a shot. He had no expression or compassion for us, and just left the room immediately after giving the shot. Instead of making us feel comforted that we were doing the right thing and that our family dogs of 16 years would be at peace, he suggested estrogen for her peeing problem. I used to take my dogs to this vet, the younger doctor is nice and has good people skills. I stopped taking my dogs here because the older one was not a nice person, and my dog died after taking her in several times in one week after he pumped her with estrogen. Im not saying he killed my dog, but he did not give me a good feeling. Well today confirmed that for me. He should retire if you cant have compassion and respect for people. This was a very hard day for my mother especially, and he made it so much worse. I felt sick leaving there because of him...disgusting!

I switched to this veterinary practice a couple of years ago specifically for the cat grooming services. Now I’m really grateful to Dr. Wise for saving the cat’s life. All the necessary tests were done right in the office.The cat went from death’s door to thriving and enjoying a wonderful life. With Dr. Jones' coaching the cat has lost several pounds and I don’t have to dread giving him insulin shots. I passed on Dr. Jones’ advice regarding dry kibble to several friends and their overweight dogs have lost as much as 20 pounds! Within a few months! All the staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. I especially like the follow-up calls they make to check on the condition of the animal after treatment. I can't say enough about the expertise available in this veterinary practice. I learn something every time I visit and am confident that my pets are receiving excellent care.

Silver Star Animal Hospital has taken care of 3 dogs and 20 cats for us over the years. They have almost become family in that time. We have found them to be invariably courteous and prompt. The care provided, from cradle to grave for some of our pets, has been excellent. Pricing may be cheaper at some other places, however, convenience, quality of care, and friendliness keep us coming back to Silver Star.

One had a horrible case of Mange and my other baby had an eye that was on the verge of rupturing. Also boarding is great and the most affordable place in town. I take several mini vacations a year and always leave my babies there with no worries.
