I have been very pleased with Dr. Close and Dr. Bauman's care of our two cats and two dogs. They show that they care a great deal. They call after hours, on weekends and holidays to check on them when they are ill or injured and will recommend changes to their care as needed. They have gone above and beyond to research alternative treatments and medications. Our elderly cat has been cured of hyperthyroidism even though it meant recommending another facility. They are not the least expensive, but they do compare with many other vets in the area (yes, we've checked). But we are not going for cheap, we are going for quality of care and flexibility.The front desk staff is incredible. The vet techs go the extra mile to build a relationship with our special needs pets and earn their trust and take an interest in their needs and progress. I've been doing pet rescue for many years and dealt with many different vets and facilities. We have been most pleased with the care and flexibility at VCA.

I disagree with the last review. I don't think they care about the animals at all. I don't care about the cost of caring for my animals(but they are expensive), but I want them carried nicely, handled well and treated with respect. The are really only 2 male doctor's at this practice and the older one, Dr. Cole is just awful. I really hate to say that, but he treated my animal awful and is a true know it all with no bedside manner. I think this doctor should maybe double check his ego or maybe just put it aside and care for the animals that need help. I would definitely try the animal hospital on Babcock, which is only a mile away. FYI.

Every time I walk in this place I just know I am going to get raked over the coals price-wise. They quote you one price over the phone to get you in and then drop the total price bomb on you once you are there. I think they do care about the animals, but I think they care about their wallets a little more.
