EXCELLENT our Sadie loved her visit!!

I started using SHAH back in 2002 on the recommendation of someone I adopted a cat from. SH had just 2 vets back then, to my recollection, a husband and wife who were so wonderful and caring. They worked out of what seemed like a tiny little house. They had one or two people working the front desk and it just WORKED. It was well organized and personable. I moved away for a few years, then came back to find they had grown exponentially to a newer and bigger building and more vets. Ok, no big deal. But then they grew so big that it was like they forgot who they were caring for. I have 3 dogs now, and all 3 of course need vet care. But over the last year or so, after seeing my dog's incontinence get worse instead of better, and the dazed look on the many vets who have taken care of my dogs, I decided to pursue someone else. I started using Davis Animal Hospital and my dog's incontinence was fixed. No more leaks. But that's not even why I'm writing. I went to go get one heartworm pill this morning for one of my dogs. I walked in, found the sign-in sheet among the spread out papers all over the desk (one of two sign-in sheets: one for products, one for appointments). I signed the correct sheet at 11:08. I checked. I watched 4 people walk in at some point after me, some with animals, some without. It was easy to tell who was there for products or pick up and who wasn't. Yet I watched one woman, who was there 20 minutes after I was (yes, I was still waiting on one heartworm pill after 20 minutes) get called up for her pet's prescriptions. Did I mention this lady signed the appointments sheet and did not have a pet with her? Finally, I left without my dog's heartworm pill. He will be ok, as he gets his shots and HW test at DAH in December anyway. But I ended up waiting 25 minutes for ONE PILL and then leaving without it. There's no organization. They went from 3 waiting room benches to 8 benches because they have gotten so busy. No one remembers you, no one cares that you're there, no one is organized. They are so busy that they can't keep appropriate papers and sign-in sheets organized (there were so many papers spread out among the front desk that I had to move multiple sheets around just to get to the sign-in one). If they can't keep the desk organized, who's to say that they can keep medications organized and that our pets get the right ones? With so many vets there now (I saw a new one come out of the back today!), your pets are shuffled around from vet to vet, who all have different opinions and treatment plans. Sure, you can request a specific vet, but I've tried doing that and it doesn't work (I instead got a vet with a dazed and indifferent look in her eyes who barely talked to me. She never introduced herself to me and no name tag, so I don't know who it was and I was never told why my requested vet couldn't take me). I'm very much NOT happy with SHAH anymore. My boss has felt the same, and she has transferred care now too to DAH. SH used to be so wonderful, caring, and personable. They now are just too big. I went for a second opinion on my dog's incontinence to another vet's and he was "cured" after one visit with DAH. After that, I started transferring care as needed. Davis Animal Hospital is one vet and very personable staff. They recognize you when they come in. They have their stuff together. They don't seem overwhelmed simply by a line of people who need to pick up one or two things. They take care of your animals. Safe Harbor has forgotten how to do that.

I have taken my cat ( Django Untamed) and my dog (Ms. Roxie Bones) both to Safe Harbor and on both occasions I have been exceedingly pleased.The staff is knowlegable and helpful. I would recomend them over anywhere else in town.

We just can not say enough great things about Safe Harbor Animal Hospital. We have 4 puppies and after trying out a few other Vets in the Milton area, we decided to try Safe Harbor in Pensacola. It is a further drive, but well worth the trip. Not only are the doctor's and staff great, but they really seem to care. They are not pushy, and they listen to you. You can tell they all love animals and it is not about a payday at all. We have taken our 4 for the normal check ups, and even major surgery and have always been treated great. They go out of their way to make you comfortable and to answer any questions you might have. My puppies are treated so well there, that they actually look forward to their Vet visit now. We have recommended Safe Harbor to friends, who now will only go to Safe Harbor as well.
