I recently switched from the banfield boynton beach location (due to terrible service, terrible staff and over medicating my pet) to the Wellington location. I have my dog on a wellness plan of their's and was under contract so had to drive 40 minutes to this location.) My first visit was great, nice staff and little wait time. However, my second visit was HORRIBLE. I left hysterical in tears because of the neglect my dog received. I have a 12 yr old dog with lots of medical issues and he is on a lot of meds that Banfield had prescribed. I informed them upon dropping him off that due to the meds he was on the dog needed to be taken out frequently and needed lots of water. I also wrote it on the drop of form in large print so everyone would be aware of the care required. I brought his dog bed in so he was as comfortable as possible until I could get off of work to pick him up. When I got there at 3:30pm my dogs bed was brought to me in a bag FULL of pee! SO full it was un-washable, I had to throw the whole thing out. He had pee'd so much the bed looked like it had been doused in a toilet. I picked my dog up and his entire under belly was wet and his harness was soaked with pee. He looked completely dehydrated and was shaking. I had to take off my jacket to put him in the car so pee would not get on my seat. I could not believe my already old and very sickly dog was in this condition. Completely unacceptable! When we returned my 8.5lb dog drank a full bowl of water and started on a second bowl when his entire belly blew up like a ballon. He was completely dehydrated and in terrible condition. I called Banfield corporate office to file a formal complaint. I received a call from the doctor at the location, who I now know is the owner of the location apologizing that he had no idea. So his staff never even told him of the incident. He told me he would credit me back for the services I paid for. 1 hour later I get a call back informing me that they would give me a credit to use but not credit my card back. (Even though the Doctor/Owner told me he would credit my card back) DID THEY ACTUALLY THINK I WOULD RETURN! I told them it was unacceptable, they didn't care and did nothing about it. I have never received a call back from corporate. I called them today to tell them I never received a follow up and very unpleased with how my formal complaint was handled and they told me they could do nothing since he owned the location. Save yourself and your pet the heart break. SO sad how my poor dog was treated.
