I have taken my older animals, a 6-year-old chihuahua and a 2-year-old cat, to Northeast Animal Hospital for 2 years now. They are very affectionate with my animals which puts me at ease. I recently had the misfortune of having to euthanize the newest member of our furry family, my kitten Olive. Though it was a very somber time, the staff at Northeast Animal Hospital, from the receptionists to our main Vet Dr. Benham, treated us with the utmost care and consideration. They allowed us adequate time alone in the room with our kitten, as well as continued care throughout the process. It has been a few weeks since our loss and I am still getting letters and handwritten cards from our Vet and staff, which mean the world to me. They truly take the time out of their day to check on you and honestly care about your pet's wellbeing. I definitely recommend Northeast Animal Hospital.

We have an adult, formerly feral, currently skittish, male ginger tom. Other vets/techs have approached Chenzo fearfully and tackled him - making matters much worse. Drs. and staff of Northeast took time to speak to him, pet him and allow him to come out on his own. They even unscrewed the top of the carrier and removed it to allow him to observe goings on. Previously I've had techs turn the carrier upside down and "dump" him out in an effort to hurry things along. We all had a much calmer, less traumatizing and safer experience for patient, parents and staff due to the care and insight of the staff at Northeast. Our estimate for teeth extractions came back on the low side, staff explained each line item of the estimate and why it was important, yet also showed where they could cut back if needed. Great customer service and level of care. I can't recommend highly enough.

Our first visit to the Northeast Animal Hospital was to take our very, very sick, 17-year-old cat in for a checkup. We're new to St. Pete. We thought it might be time to make that most difficult decision. After the Doctor thoroughly informed us of our options for our beloved, Figaro, we decided that it best that we allow him to move on. The Vet and her staff showed the utmost compassion and coutesy, and respect for our pet. The fees were more-than resonable as we decided to have "Figgy" cremated. We have another 17-year-old cat (Figgy's sister) and a 5 year old dog. We're very glad to have found our new pet doctor.

We have been using this animal practice for our dogs for a couple of years. Their service has normally been decent and we have spent a lot of money for both boarding and vet fees. This week, our smallest dog was showing visible and audible signs of pain. We took her to the vet who gave her pills and told us their might be a nerve problem. We were told to give it a couple of days and if the pain continued, bring her back. The discomfort has not noticeably receded and it was obvious the pills we were given were offering very little pain relief. This morning, Saturday, we called to set up a visit and were simply told they were full all day and that we should try somewhere else. It seems that compassionate animal care does not stretch to weekends at this establishment, we won't be back. As with the previous reviewer, we also notice that they aggressively and constantly push vaccinations and tests.

I used to take my cats to another vet clinic, but I was not happy there. I switched to Northeast Animal Hospital and I am so pleased with the care they provide. I have been there for regular visit and also for sudden illnesses and now for my very, very old cat. I see Dr. Sutton regularly but have also seen Dr. Scribano and Dr. Schmidt. I was pleased with each one. I noticed on some posts that people think that they push their services and medications. However, I know my cat better than they do and when we talk through the options they make it easy for me to make a decision about which services and medications I choose now, later, or never. Above all else, I really believe that they are sincerely compassionate about both my cat and me. They consider the care that is needed for my cat while also working with me and my emotions and my ability to care for my cat. I really get great support from them!
