Our cat Booger was hit by a car. After we brought her to the emergency vet we brought her to the Animal Hospital of Seminole for Surgery and they went above and way beyond our expectations. We were calling a bunch of vets trying to find a good priced place, not the cheapest one because we are talking about a major surgery to remove her front right leg, but a fairly priced place. When we called the Animal Hospital of Seminole, they were so friendly and helpful over the phone and their pricing was better than most places. Not only was it a decent price, but, while every other place quoted me a huge range ("anywhere between $600-$1500"), The Animal Hospital of Seminole asked me a TON of questions & based on my answers quoted me a price with a range of $50. Their quote also included everything needed, whereas everybody else quoted me just for the surgery itself, the consult & any extra things needed (such as hospital stay, IV, pain meds, etc.) were not included in the $600-$1500. When we brought her in the following Monday we realized that we had made the right choice. The waiting area has a home feel and very cozy, but we weren't in the waiting area long at all because they helped us almost immediately and had us in the back room waiting for the vet. We have dealt with a bunch of vets before, and normally the vet tech comes in and tells you what the plan is quickly and leaves us to wait. Not this place, the vet herself came in & she was so nice and sweet, answered every question we had with honesty, and just made us feel good about everything. We did not really have the extra money for the overnight care after surgery, so we wanted to pick her up after and care for her at home. When we have done this before, most of the time we are "looked down on" but when we told the vet, she made us feel great about it and told us all the instructions to make sure we would care for her right. After the surgery they called us to let us know everything went well & Booger was doing great. She told us to come when they closed at 5pm so they would have her and watch after her right up until they closed since we did not pay for the overnight care. That was incredible, most places if you don't pay for the overnight care, they want your animal out ASAP. Then they brought our cat out and the vet came in with her and told us what went on, and gave us the run down on the surgery. They also gave her a strong antibiotic shot that we did not pay for and an IV during surgery so she would be comfortable and safe during surgery which again we did not pay for. She is all healed and doing great being a tri-ped. The vet has even called a couple times to see how she was and answer any questions we had. I would never go anywhere else with my animals. This is the best and most friendliest place I have ever seen, heard of, or been too. I highly recommend this Vet to anyone looking for a vet. I can not stress how much they care about animals. They aren't the type that is in it only to make a dollar, they actually, really care! After the amputation surgery we brought Booger back to get her stiches out & for a check up, & we noticed her tail was turning black. We pointed it out to the vet & instead of saying, "We gotta take that off right away! Oh, & it's going to be an extra couple hundred for that surgery." she instead inspected the tail & told us to watch out for it, that it MIGHT have to come off if it gets any worse, but she would feel better about waiting & just keeping an eye on it. What vet do you know of that says to wait & make sure instead of just cutting it off & then charging you for it? I know our other vet would have made it seem like it needed to come off right away for the good of the animal & then made us pay a crazy amount of $$ for it. In conclusion: BEST VETINERARY CARE EVER!
Lovely Vets. I've never left my animal to be boarded there, I've only gone there for my cats vet check ups and yearly vaccines. Every time, it's been a pleasant experience. The vets are gentle and very helpful, answering all questions and concerns and make you and you pet feel well looked after.
Do Not Leave Your Pet With Them!! I left my dog with them for 3 days. He came home sick, weak and vomitting and to top it off they charged me for a $200 office visit the next day. My indoor dog was very healthy and fit when I left him, obviously the conditions are not clean as he had a viral infection due to unlcean surroundings that req'd antibiotics. His surroundings were from their OFFICE! Do Not Leave Your Pet With Them!!
Animal Hospital of Seminole was our preferred veterinary of choice in St. Petersburg before leaving on a two-year circumnavigation of the Caribbean Sea aboard our sailboat with our two cats, Tigre and Noche. They never told us that they refuse to work with 1-800 PETMEDS (even in such extenuating circumstances as not being able to visit the vet office personally) and therefore we would be unable to renew our flea and tick medication while we traveled. Due to this, our cats now have fleas and tape worm. Thank you Animal Hospital of Seminole for caring for our two family members like they were your own. Cannot imagine how you treat your elderly parents!
