While animal aid isn't too fancy or quick, the doctors are thorough and there are several staff members at all times looking over your pet. The work they do is inexpensive, and I truly appreciate everything Animal Aid has done for me over the years. They offer half-priced bath days, as well as discounts for low-income families. Animal aid also honors vouchers, so if you have one your spay/neuter cost will be much less, as well as rabies vaccines etc.

I (we) have had a collaborative relationship with Animal Aid and their staff for the last four years. During this time we have consistently benefitted from efficient quality service and care for the animals (dogs/cats) we have brought to the facility to either: spay, neuter, vaccinate, and evaluate. At times the waiting time is extensive due to the nature of the service they offer and the number of animals being processed in the morning and in the afternoon at pick up times. This is neither the fault of the staff or the organization, is just a logical result of serving a vast number of clients, just like when we go to the medical doctor. We have never felt mistreated, nor have we ever felt there to have been lack of compassion towards the animal's situation or presentation. Some of the dogs/cats we have brought to their facility came from very unfortunate situations and they neither looked or smelled good. This has never been an obstacle for the staff to pick them up and carry (when needed) them to the evaluation room, or to the holding area prior to surgery. I have personally witness on numerous occasions how the staff goes out of their way to aid/assist someone in need or someone who is unable to cover the cost of the required procedure. I have witness staff seeking alternatives to help families and individuals secure the best treatment for their animals, as I have also witness the compassion and care with which the staff addresses delicate situations where the companion pet needs to be euthanized. It is unfortunate that our area does not have more "Animal Aid" facilities, it is also unfortunate that at times individuals who are short-tempered display inappropriate behaviors towards the staff at this facility. Staff at this facility has become quite skillful in addressing the needs of the four legged as well as the two legged and in both cases with the upmost respect and in a non-confrontational manner. I (we) have no doubt that without this facility many residents of Leon, Gadsden, and other adjacent counties would not be able to provide the care required by their companion pets, and many of the animal welfare organizations would have to limit their services to the community due to the significant discrepancy in approach between a "private veterinary office" and an organization whose only interest is the welfare of the animals sometimes in detriment even of their own. Without hesitation we recommend this facility for the care of your pet(s). I personally take each and everyone of my own companion pets to this facility, as well as those for whom I seek services via our animal welfare organization. Dr. Norma Torres

If I could give a zero I would I took my dog there because she wasn't acting herself and they diagnosed her with inflamed intestines because she got Into the cat litter I took her for a second opinion and found she has lung cancer! If you want a better quality vet instead of quantity take your pet to shepherd springs animal hospital in crawfordville they are kind and never rush a patient. I spent 171.00 at animal aid for the visit 3 Meds and IV fluid she didn't need! When I spend $300.00 at shepherd springs for 2 X-rays 1 berrium and a line of blood work! Shepherd springs is better quality of service!

I have trapped many feral cats and have brought them to Animal Aid over the years. All my rescued cats had the best care with no complications. They have given me Spay and Neuter vouchers and great discounts. I am appreciative of Animal Aid's hard work. The Supervisor has always checked on all my cat's medical needs or concerns.

Our cat rescue has used Animal Aid for 13 years. It is one of the few vet practices in Tallahassee which routinely spays and neuters feral cats, getting them in and out the same day. While other vet practices in Tallahassee have raised their prices to the point that it is almost unaffordable to provide vet care, Animal Aid is still the best deal in town. They also accept post-dated checks enabling animal caretakers to provide care at the time it is needed. If pet owners are completely unable to afford care for their animal, Animal Aid also provides some financial aid. If you have to wait longer than at another vet practice, consider that the price for not being gouged. If you work, you can drop off your pet in the morning before work and not be charged a "drop off fee" as other vets now routinely do.
