The plans are deceptive. Only a good deal for the first year for a puppy (because of spay/neuter) then become very expensive. They have the highest prices for heartworm/flea/tick of any place. If you try to buy heartworm/flea/tick from other places they are a hassle to get them to approve every time. They have the highest prices for heartworm/flea/tick of any place also. You call and they will say one thing then when you go in it is the opposite. They are annoying. I found another vet for my dogs.
Banfield in Tallahassee is a great vet's office. The staff are always kind and helpful, and the hours are so convenient. Both of our rescue dogs are on the wellness plans, and I've been happy with those as well. We adopted both dogs as unaltered puppies with no shots (at different times), so we had to do to the full gamut of neutering and vaccinations for both. At other vets in the area, it would have cost upwards of $300 for just the consultation visit and first round of shots. Overall, the plans may not save you a ton of money over the life of your dog, but they certainly help make responsible pet ownership easier and more affordable. For those who say the staff are pushy, I agree a bit, and it's the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I think the first couple times I took my newly-adopted 6 week old lab puppy in for various silly puppy things, I may have been a little too overly cautious and purchased some stuff he didn't really need. However, there's a new vet in the office now, and she seems to be more realistic with what's necessary vs. optional in pet care. Bottom line: my husband and I both recommend Banfield and the wellness plans to all our friends with furry family members. We've been very happy with the staff and care our dogs have received there.
Everyone was super nice and I got in and out very quickly. The wellness plan is also going to save a ton of money
Been taking my vizsla here for years. They are great and the wellness plan has more than paid for itself with just the dental cleanings every year.
