I am beyond impressed with Dr. Arun and his staff at Summit Boulevard Animal Hospital. The care and compassion they show is 2nd to none! Dr. Arun always takes time to talk to you and explain fully what is going on our dogs. We recently had an emrgency with a puppy. Dr. Arun arrived at the hospital within 5 minutes and took immediate action to try to save her life. I couldn't have asked for more from him or his staff. My son was so impressed with Dr. Arun that he has decided to make him his regular vet. And my son lives TWO HOURS away! That speaks volumes to me!!!
I want to share my entire experience, as there were several issues but can't do that and keep this somewhat short....so, just let me say this..... I will never go back here for anything and thank God it was only to use their reproductive services to have my dog collected. The first issue was taking my Italian Greyhound to the back without me to use a female that was in prime heat and there for her procedure. I have no idea if they even tried to collect him being the vet came back with my dog about 10-15 (at most) and informed me his prostate was small, his left testicle was a bit smaller than his right and he needs a dental (he is a 10 yr old IG) and his ears were in need of drops. I was a vet tech for 15 years and I have seen bad ears and there wasn't anything but a small amt of dirt and wax WAY down inside. Which he had to use a probe/camera to find. He offered his services for that and dental and all sorts of fertility tests. Why offer fertility tests when he hadn't collected him yet! I reminded him what I was the for and an IG will be more comfortable with owner present and he said ok, they'd bring the female in the room. The tech came in, minus female. When questioned she said she had been AI'd and needed to stay in cage for 2 hours. The tech tried to collect him and all she did was bruise his stomach/inside flank area. When I noticed that, I grabbed my purse and walked out. That was it, I was DONE! I left there paying $130 for a service I believe I was not fully provided (as described on the phone that morning). However, in the long run $130 is worth having firsthand knowledge of the quality at this facility.
Please take your time and read the reviews. They are similar when it comes to Dr Arun abusing clients. In speaking with people at the dog park and around my neighborhood he has threatened many people with animal control when they dont have dental work done at his hospital. Another woman wrote that he is very familiar with the police , because he calls them on his clients all the time. This man is extremely ill. Something needs to be done to stop this. I am going door to door and getting a petition signed against this tyrant. Together we will give voices to all the animals that were possibly mistreated at the hands of this disturbed person
We had a great experience with Dr. Arun and his awesome staff at Summit Blvd. Animal Hospital. We recently brought our two cats in for some procedures, and they were well taken care of. The prices weren't bad at all for the quality of service received. We'll certainly be back!
I recently had my first encounter with this vet. I left feeling incredibly misinformed and agitated. I had done my research prior coming in so I had an idea of what to expect. There was a lot of up sell, a lot of badgering, and of course outrageously priced. I originally came in for an A.I. for my pair of French Bulldogs. After being ridiculed for not bringing my female in sooner for blood work I expressed that this isn't my first time breeding and I wait for EXPERIENCED males to tell me when the female is most fertile. When asked how many cycles my bitch has had, I mentioned this is her third. I was questioned yet again as they tried to inform me that because of her age (dob 11/11/12) it's "impossible" for this to be her third heat cycle and that females don't go into heat until they are 11months of age. I rebuked saying I have had females go into heat as early as 5 and 7 months of age. When questioned on the brand of food my dogs are on I mentioned Solid Gold, of which the vet was unfarmiliar, I was told that I should be feeding Royal Canin (ironic enough this is also what they get paid to sell in their facility), and that Solid Gold is an "inferior food." In doing my own research I have found Solid Gold far out weights Royal Canin. My advice... Do your research! Have knowledge both of your breed and potential procedures you need done. I walked away with an estimate of well over $1000.00. The next day my Frenchie's tied, NATURALLY! Something I was also informed by Summit would "NEVER" happen.
