Stay away far away!!! This place will rape you. It was awful. We took our dog, left her at 6 am and by 4pm they still had not done a ultrasound to find out why she was in so much pain. So why did you do an ultrasound in the first place??? The blood work came back perfect. Which means no infection!!! Why would you even recommend an ultrasound?? Oh that right more money!!! Then go to pick her up and get hit with a $1000 bill because they were to busy to see her. All the blood work came back okay so you told my husband to do an ultrasound because if you don't find anything on x-ray then we would have to pay for both. My poor husband didn't know any better. There was absolutely no reason for an ultrasound to be done in the first place because all the labs were okay. Which would mean there is prob a fracture/dislocation/sprain. So why on earth would you suggest an ultrasound??? An x-ray needed done!!! Lab work came back perfect!!! So I had to pay for all these injections because they had other more important emergencies. It is absolutely ridiculous to have us waiting for 10 hours for you to do a ultrasound that you knew wasn't needed and that is why you waited so long!!! It is unacceptable. Then all they can tell me is they don't know what is causing her pain?? absolutely no diagnosis except she is in pain....Gee thanks genius!! She sits for 14 hours and nothing!!! So I go to my vet the next day and with in a 20 min visit they could tell that she had an awful sprain in her lower back. I should have canceled my check!!! I would never recommend this useless place to anyone. VERY PISSED THEY STOLE MY CHRISTMAS MONEY!!!!!!

We have nothing but praise for VHA and their staff who are always polite accommodating and courteous. We are a rescue 501c3 org and our recent experience with one our recent critical intakes deserves more than the 5 stars we are able to give. The facility is immaculate, the care, dedication and compassion is beyond compare. We have been present during the surgeries of our intake, we have been visiting on a daily basis day and night. The DVMs Vet Techs and Surgeons offer knowledge and service that is highly commendable. VHA are a wonderful facility with a fully staffed 24 hour care service. To the person that left the last review You get what you pay for. You cannot put a price on your pets life and welfare and at VHA you will get the best.

The best words to describe this place would be - "money grubbers". You better show up with high credit card limits or lots of cash because that's what motivates them - love of money and not your pet. My local vet charges $350 for a Chihuahua C section. These crooks wanted $2000. They are probably responsible for more pet deaths than ones they save, because people and pets in need never get past their cash deposit requirements. It would be a benefit to the community if they closed down.

As I have many pets I have visited this practice many times over the years and this establishment has proven to be the best place for my kids. They are staffed 24/7 with competent, knowledgeable and caring veterinarians and techs for round the clock care. I have had to leave my pets here for critical care treatment for long term care as this is the only state of the art facility remotely close to my home. They respect pet owner's decisions as they know we care the most about our pets and they take the time to explain various procedures and treatments. I always recommend this clinic to everyone I know who has a pet as I have been coming here for the over 20 years I have been in Florida. I have had experiences with other veterinary practices in the area as well, but only this place gets 5 stars.

Once again today, VHA proved to us that their value is immeasurable. A few days ago while in the office for his annual exam, the doctor noticed our dog’s lower right canine had broken. He explained that although the clinic provides basic dentistry, saving the tooth required a canine root canal and we needed a vet specially trained in dental surgery. We booked an appointment with one of the most accomplished pet dentists in the country. All of that expertise doesn’t come without a big ticket, but imagine if the fee was twice as much as your “generous worst-case scenario” figure! [Go get the paddles, the pet parents have gone into cardiac arrest!] Still in shock from the fee, I called VHA for help and advice. They not only offered to see if the rate we were quoted was fair, they returned my call in 10 minutes with some comparison pricing, a quote, the next available appointment date, and a contact name and number. Talk about customer satisfaction…WOW! They routinely go above and beyond the call of duty. They’ve earned my lifetime’s loyalty and respect. As long as our health allows, our dogs will be patients of Veterinary Healthcare Associates! For those who complain about pricing, if you want the least expensive veterinary care in the county, you won’t find it there. But, if you want the finest care, best staff, most extensive services in Polk County, and a group that will go outside of the box to satisfy their clients’ needs, VHA is the place to go.
