After my dog ingested some chocolate and began vomiting we decided to take him to All Pets. My husband informed the staff that our sweet boy had thrown up 7-10 times at home and then once in the car on the way there. After looking over our 5lb Yorkshire terrier and saying "He looks weak" the Veterinarian then decided the best treatment plan would be to give him the injection to make him vomit. I am very upset that they gave my already dehydrated 5lb dog an injection to throw up. Being 2:00 in the morning and half asleep my husband verbally agreed. Minutes after giving the injection the Veterinarian returned saying "he threw up too much" and she wanted to give him the injection to stop the vomiting. Never saying this would cost more, my husband assumed, it was included in the price. Not that that matters because of course we want him to stop, that's why we brought him in. After she got him to stop vomiting she then went over another treatment plan. Which was to stop at the $300 (My husband never agreed to more than the $200) we had already racked up or to continue to the $1000 plan. We don't have that kind of money to spend, my husband said that would be all we could do. The veterinarian made my husband feel like he was a bad person for refusing the care. My husband signed the form saying they could do the treatment ,that they had already done. I called to tell the "administration" about my discomfort in the matter. While she was nice she said "they did follow protocol" and offered me a 10 percent discount on my next visit. I am no Vet but I do know that every patient is different and shouldn't be treated as "protocol". There is no way I would ever take my dog back there. This place does not care about your animal and only wants your money. It's obvious they are taking advantage of tired sleep deprived people in a crisis situation. Stay away from All Pets, I know I will.
STAY AWAY. Not only was Dr. Itkin rude and completely lacking in compassion; his incompetence would have killed our cat if we hadn’t gone elsewhere. The short version: All Pets took four days and $2300 to tell us our cat was going to die. Our second-opinion vet took twelve hours and $500 to diagnose, treat, and release her. She has recovered fully. We took our cat to All Pets for a swollen abdomen and lethargy. After three days of tests, Dr. Itkin told us she had carcinoma and was days away from death—there was nothing to do for her aside from treating her pain. We grew increasingly uncomfortable with Dr. Itkin’s professionalism and competence, or lack thereof, so we took our cat to UGA’s veterinary clinic, who told us she had a “textbook case” of uterine infection. They performed the standard surgery and sent her home the same day. It’s worth noting that UGA had to redo x-rays—at no cost because they were very understanding of our predicament—because the ones All Pets had done were unreadable. No wonder Dr. Itkin didn’t know what was wrong with our cat: his clinic couldn’t correctly perform standard procedures. They certainly knew how to charge for them, though. I should have known better. In contrast to the kindness of the women at the front desk, Dr. Itkin gave me the creeps from the very beginning, and it only got worse. The final straw was when he told my husband that, eh, he guessed they could perform surgery, but it would be “a bloody mess” (seriously) and probably wouldn’t do any good anyway. If he knew what he was doing, he would have known that surgery was exactly what she needed. When I went to pick her up to take her to the other vet, he gave me a hard time for not trusting his diagnosis. He spent the rest of that meeting telling me what to do when a cat dies. He oh-so-cheerfully informed me that, despite what people say, cats don’t actually mourn other cats; they actually just get confused, so… no big deal, I guess? My ailing cat was three feet away from us. Had I been less upset about the pain my cat was in and less eager to get the hell out of there, I would have given him a fine telling-off. NO. NO. NO.
You should only go here as a last resort. My experience is consistent with the other poor ratings on Google. The woman at the front desk was very nice but the rest of the medical staff were rude, inconsiderate, disrespectful, and tried to take advantage of my vulnerable position fearing for my dog's life to take my money. It was a hard decision to decline an unnecessary battery of expensive tests but it was the right decision this time. After a sleepless night wondering if my beloved was going to make it until morning, the real vet quickly diagnosed a common and non-life-threatening condition at little cost and without lab work.
Our beloved 17 year old cat Skylar became ill on a holiday weekend and of course it was 9:30pm. We took her to All Pets Emergency and had a wonderful experience. The front office staff was amazing and showed true compassion. The vet techs and vet were also wonderful. Unfortunately 2 weeks later she became ill again and we knew it was her time. With broken hearts we returned to All Pets Emergency. The love and compassion that Skylar received was beautiful. The care my wife and I received was equally as wonderful. We chose to have our girl cremated so we could have her at home with us. The service that All Pets used was outstanding. They called us the next day and went over our option with us. The woman on the phone was so caring and compassionate. When we received our baby girl home, the service called to make sure she made it home safe. I cannot say enough about how much that meant to us that they took the time to make sure she made it home. I hope that we will not have to visit All Pets any time soon, but we take comfort in knowing that their services are there if we may need them with our other pets. I would recommend their services to anyone who is in need. We felt the cost was fair and the love and caring that they showed to our beloved Skylar was priceless!
The great service I received at All Pets began at the front desk and continued with the doctors and vet tech. Everyone there is super friendly and cares about your pet like it's their own. All my questions are always answered and my dogs seem to feel at ease there. If my dogs like All Pets, then so do I.
