I've been to Hamby Road Animal Hospital several times and I've always had a good experience. I breed American Staffordshire Terriers and they have helped me with several dogs that I've had trouble getting pregnant in the past. The good thing about the vets there is they understand that sometimes dogs need to be bred on Sunday and they get it - Dr. Adams has met me on Sunday for an AI and that meant a lot to me. They are the best reproductive practice in this area and I've recommended them to a lot of people who have also had good experiences.
I have been using Hamby Road since we moved to Forsyth County 8+ years ago. Always clean, the staff have always been nice and willing to help and Dr. Pam (which is the only doctor I've ever seen there) is so wonderful. I have never felt like just another customer, in my opinion thye always go out of their way to make everyone and their pets feel special.
I have been going to this vet office for over 3 years - I can't say that I have ever been really happy but the location was quite convenient. I feel they are very lax in the examinations - I took my dog in telling them she wouldn't eat her dry food, had bad breath, and seemed not "herself" - this is all after her usual yearly checkup (and I do use that term loosely) So a brief exam and of course blood work etc and they can't figure out what it is - probably will need more testing. Well duh - I went home and it came to me - this dog has a bad tooth (vet never even looked in her mouth) sure enough I look and this is a very loose tooth - I have to call the vet and tell her - so I spent the money on a needless test - (I have lost my job and money is tight) when if she had looked in the dog's mouth the problem would have been solved. Bottom line, anytime I am there I am feeling they are looking to pad the bill. Like the time I had my other dog's teeth cleaned and without a phone call to me - I had a bill of over $700 for numerous things. At least I was working then. I have simmered over this for quite a while and decided I would post my review. I think they are more into breeding or whatever. Go elsewhere if you are looking for just an ordinary caring vet.
This vet clinic was used to have frozen shipped from the stud kennel to our veterinarian. The first time, some "smart" person arranged to have the EMPTY container shipped back overnight - you can imagine how high the shipping charges for the empty container were. The second time, we shipped the container from our location, to make sure the same thing does not happen again. The vet clinic was aware what day our container would arrive. Apparently they are not capable to transfer the frozen semen from their container into ours within 2 hours and 40 minutes or have everything prepared ahead of time, so that the container can go out the same day again. Needless to say, we incurred overnight shipping charges again. The stud owner lost us as a customer for future breedings, since we are not willing to deal with this outfit again. Never ever again.
I have been taking my 3 dogs and my cat to Hamby Rd. for 2 years now and I can't say enough about the professionalism and caring attitude at this clinic. I highly recommend them!
