Dr. Brandley is HANDS DOWN the best vet I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot…She is so caring towards animals, and of course my dog, being a vet is not just a job to her, she truly is an absolute pleasure to see, even if my dog Maggie doesn't want to be there : )…. She has had to "put her under" several times for teeth cleaning and extractions, etc. She is unbelievably thoughtful in terms of letting me know exactly what is going to happen and then calls immediately after letting me know Maggie is ok. I can't stress how awesome she is, if you go to her once, I am betting you will never go to another vet again… The staff upfront is always really nice too...
I tried two other local vets before going here. The two prior vets were not good experiences, expensive, long waits, etc. Ansley was the exact opposite. I got there early, and was seen right at my appointment time. All the staff was very pleasant, and the place was clean. My whole visit took about 25 minutes. That's fantastic, as I waited that long PAST my appointment time in the waiting rooms at both of the other vets I tried.
This vet clinic/hospital has been an integral part of our lives for 20 years or more (with the exception of us moving away for 3 years). We have 2 dogs, one old & one young-ish & they've always gone to Ansley. From Dr. Woody, the founder to Dr. Gail Kearney the owner (she bought out Dr. W when he retired) we depend on these people like members of our own family. We used to rescue & they cared for dozens of cats & dogs; some remained our pets & some were adopted. I don't know what we'd do without Ansley. Most of the FOH & BOH staff have been there for years, know us well & bend over backwards to help, w/ patience, enthusiasm & genuine concern. The doctors are top of the world to us. Customer service is outstanding. Everyone there is loving, kind, understanding & extremely talented. They keep everyone up to date w/ seminars & training. They've handled routine to serious long-term illness care & everything in between & we would never consider changing vets unless we had to move a ways out of Midtown. Yes, they're frequently very busy & the waiting room can be packed & hectic, but there's a ton of grassy area, shade & benches outside too. And yes, the costs are kind of getting high, but medical care is costly for everyone. You want a fully stocked & ready hospital & everything that comes with it! I wish they could offer ultrasound there as it's frequently recommended as a diagnostic tool. You can see the same Dr. all the time if you wish. There's an online store now & home delivery of meds, etc. if you want it. Get an estimate when you are concerned about costs (who isn't these days?). We truly love these people & recommend Ansley Animal with all our hearts.
Although I do think the staff was incredibly nice while I was there, every time I visited I saw a different vet. The waiting room is extremely crowded at all times and quite small - it can be traumatic for nervous animals. Additionally, the vet told me my dog had some serious health issues. When I called to give the vet permission to run the tests (I had dropped him off), they did not run the tests until I got there hours later, and I had to wait close to two hours, even though I already had an appointment. They ran tests that cost close to $500 and found nothing. I was suspicious, so I got a second opinion before putting my dog on medication, and it turned out he did not have any of the problems they diagnosed, and they missed cataracts in both eyes. It could very well have been a mistake, but I am certainly glad I got another opinion. Please be careful. I am giving them a "Good" rating because they seemed organized and for annual visits the cost is reasonable, and the appointments are quick and painless. For more serious vet care, however, I would strongly consider a different clinic.
This clinic does the right thing and not just when you have your credit card with you. My dog has eaten everything under the sun. Each time he does, I can call and they will assess if he needs to come in or not over the phone. They listen to the problem and more often than not tell me everything will be just fine, however yesterday he got into a big pile of sugar free gum. They told me to bring him in ASAP. When I got there, they had a vet waiting on our arrival. She had already got all the medicine ready and he was seen without a minute delay. This morning they even called to follow up on his condition. They handled the situation professionally and took care of my baby just as I'd want him taken care off. I won't be taking my dog anywhere else in Atlanta.
