My puppy needed emergency surgery hours before I left on a week-long overseas trip. The staff was so kind to me (I was hysterical) and took really great care of my little munchkin. They kept him the whole time I was gone and emailed me pictures to ease my worry. The front desk people, the vet techs, and Dr. Johnson all really seem to love what they do, and it shows in their work. I'm very lucky to have them as my dog's vet team—even though I hope to not see them as frequently as I have the last couple of weeks!
It was one of the hardest & emotional experiences I have had. My cat Puck (literally the best cat of all time) of 14 years became sick with no recovery. He couldn't eat, couldn't stop vomiting and became so skinny. I couldn't let him suffer anymore so I took him to Ark. The doctor and her staff (love you Kyna) went above and beyond to make sure that every step going forward was in the best interest of Puck. We had to put him down to end his suffering. I needed Ark more than I knew - they helped me come to terms with pucks passing. Ark - THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!!
Used The Ark AH when my dogs battle resulted in a ripped ear on the Chocolate Lab. It was my first time using them. All of the staff there gave excellent customer service and put my tensions at ease. It took a couple of visits before the repair got on track. Dr. Johnson was very sensitive to looking for alternative ways to address the problem that would accommodate my dog's reaction to the repair. After they boarded him to keep him contained and monitored in the 3 critical days following surgery, everything worked our well. Kenya was the best. She gave extra TLC, taught me how to care for the ear with a private demonstration. I would highly recommend using The Ark. Dr. Johnson, Kenya and the staff are the best. I'll be switching to The Ark for all my vet needs.
DO NOT GO HERE! This clinic only cares about making money. We were there from 8 pm to 1 am and they never finished a fecal test that was supposed to take 10 minutes. The entire focus was on other elective procedures that had nothing to do with the visit. I was there because my dog was scarfing down food and having intermittent diarrhea- during which I mentioned that behavior is rare because he will forgo eating occasionally. From that they decided that my dog might have a smaller opening to his stomach and wanted to do an x-ray with puppy version of contrast, then an ultrasound, and possibly surgery—which is insane when his weight and energy are perfect (even too much on the energy side). They were more interested in racking up fees than treating my dog's condition. They quoted over $1,200 in tests --not present in that estimate were fluids, after my dog had diarrhea for 5 days. After we left around 1 am and had to take my dog to his normal vet, they proceeded to call me at 7 am, 11 am, and the following day to schedule the elective procedures that I had already declined. They were aggressive and harassing about scheduling them and didn't ask how my dog was doing until the third call. This place is a complete racket and shouldn't be trusted. They never told me the final results of the fecal test and showed no concern for my dog's well-being. Who in their right mind would put a sick dog through sedation, an elective ultrasound and invasive surgery to widen the opening of his stomach?!? Who would even dream up that situation from a dog presenting with diarrhea, except someone desperate to make money.
I have used The Ark Animal Hospital twice, once about six months ago when my lab, Maya, was hit by a car and most recently when our kitten, Penelope, became ill. I have had animals my entire life and have made many trips to the vet, but Dr Johnson and her team are the best I have seen. Their moto 'Where Care and Caring Meet' doesn't even begin to describe the love that they show for their furry patients. Maya's injuries required a stay in the hospital and several follow-up visits. She was well-cared for and pampered with lots of love, attention, and treats by the staff. After she was released from the hospital she was excited when she got to go back for her follow-up visits. We were not as fortunate with Penelope. Pen started having labored breathing and her health quickly deteriorated. An ultrasound detected a mass covering her heart, a congenital condition that was not treatable. The doctors explained the diagnosis and situation clearly and offered great compassion as we had to make a difficult decision. The Ark Animal Hospital is my vet of choice and I highly recommend them to anyone who has a furry family member.
