We just adopted 2 cats from the Humane society, and went to VCA for a new pet checkup. Service was super friendly. Vet was fantastic with the cats and my son (hah!). Seems like a truly genuinely caring environment for animals.

Please DO NOT take your pet here. My puppy received the lepto virus vaccine and had extremely negative reactions to it. I was not warned, other than that there may be some side effects such as drowsiness and loose stools, that this vaccine is actually quite risky, and it was pushed on me very strongly by the veterinarian even though it is not a required vaccine. Furthermore, when I took my puppy back in as they requested when he started shaking and being unable to hold himself up on his front paws after getting the vaccine, they ran a number of tests on him and gave him three different medicines without my permission. This ended up costing me nearly $100 even though I was never told I would be charged. Perhaps the worst part, however, was that when I got my puppy back after leaving him there for an hour to watch his symptoms, he was returned to me so frightened that he could not stop whimpering and crying, and none of his symptoms had improved whatsoever even though he was pumped full of benadryl, pain medication, and muscle relaxants. It has been 11 hours since his vaccination and 2 hrs since he was returned to me after being watched, and he still is shaking uncontrollably, unable to support himself on his front legs, and whimpering like he is in severe pain or is extremely scared and nothing is calming him down. Please do not take your pet here if you want it to be treated properly and if you do not want blood work and shots/meds to be given to your pet without your permission. It will cost you a lot of money and leave your pet in worse condition than before you arrived.

Since conversion to VCA has been nothing but unnecessary and unauthorized procedures. When my dog pulled a muscle in her leg leaping from the car a few months ago, I took here to VCA for X-ray to be sure nothing too serious as she was limping. Vet asked for my verbal OK to do a couple X-rays, and that was expected, so of course, I agreed. But they returned with not 2 but 4 pictures. In one they shot an X-ray of both front legs (despite nothing wrong with the other leg at all) and then did an X-ray of the good leg only (because as they explained to me, they needed to see what a good X-ray looked like for comparison). Two rational explanations: Perhaps the staff is incompetent because they don't know what a clean x-ray looks like for a dog. Perhaps it's just VCA "best practices" to pad my bill by at least 35%. Conclusion: Used to be a great place. Tolerated a few silly billing items after the VCA conversion, but they lost me as customer permanently with this stunt.

I have received top notch customer service and my dogs get top notch care. I have been other places and once my dog almost died from a misdiagnosis. I do not buy my monthly meds here. They are cheaper elsewhere. Again, I go here for quality of care and I get my money's worth.

I have been taking my pets to this hospital since my family moved to Atlanta in 1968. They have always been treated kindly and competently.
