Yoshi has been seen at Highland for 7 years. I had no problems with any of his visits. The facility is clean and the entire staff is friendly. Dr. Iverson calls for follow ups, which I think is excellent!

Like anything else you can have good days and bad days. Does anyone ever have flawless service when they go to their own doctor? No. However, I have 3 dogs going to see Dr. Walker and his partners. We have been going for over 6 years now. I have not had any complaints except sometimes they can get super busy (depending on the time of day and appointments scheduled) and you may be waiting a few extra minutes to be seen. Dr. Walker just cropped our doberman puppy's ears and they turned out beautiful. Did not even have to post them with tape at all. My dogs are not afraid to go into the office and the staff always treats them like their own. If you have a bad experience, please think about it and see if you can talk to the staff there. They do try to make things right. Give them a chance - and trust me they are NOT the most expensive in town. Sure they don't have a newly built building like St. Francis, but they also are not raising their prices to pay for such a new building either.

The staff can have their good and bad days like anywhere else but I have always been treated with respect. Going to the vet isn't a speedy process and everyone is very upfront with information. The reason we go here and will continue to do so is that my dogs love the staff and are always treated with care and respect. The girls willingly go into the office and go out of their way to greet staff members because they love it there and the most important part of any vet is that the animals feel comfortable and cared for.

Be very, very careful if you take your pet here. Dr. Walker administered Metacam to my 18 year old Siamese and put him into renal failure. We only wanted to have lab work done but this terrible drug was supposed to "make him feel better." When we brought Sampson back in for emergency follow up, he couldn't have been more passive and unconcerned sending us home with a bag a fluids to administer. Sampson would have surely died had we not taken him to the Augusta Animal Emergency. I can not recommend AAE enough...they saved Sampson's life! Also, Dr. Walker used his finger nail to remove tarter from Sampson's tooth...who does that? Dr. Walker was Sampson's vet for 13 years which makes this that so much worse.

I have been going to Highland for the last 10 years, ever since old Dr. Tribby retired. I have never had a problem. They are moderately priced, very nice and you can get out of there fairly qucikly. I like Dr. Iverson for regular visits but when I need consoling I ask to see Dr. Walker. I have tried many other vets in the Augusta area over the years and I like Highland the best by far.
