THE best pet healthcare in the area. I have just been through a very long hard chronic problem that came to recent surgery with my White German Shepherd and I had the best care I didn't even imagine getting with Dr. Mike and his staff. I am SO glad I found a great vet. I am newer to the area, live alone, and challenged without close family and friends to rely on yet. I was immediately impressed with his compassionate, caring, judge-free demeanor and experienced knowledge with a state of the art facility. Dr. Mike took lots of extra time with me educating and discussing Jasmine's case, was very thorough and told me all the options, yet was not at all pushy, let me decide what steps I was comfortable taking at the moment. When I decided the surgery option he got me in very soon as it became urgent and I was very impressed with the clean incision and Jasmine's outcome. He went far above and beyond with me at this holiday time and I will be forever grateful. I wish he were MY doctor, my dog gets better medical care than me. Kudos to Pooler Veterinary Hospital. Wonderful, expert compassionate care. We recently awoke to a stray kitten (5 weeks old) on our door step who was in bad shape. Her eye was obviously infected and swollen out of its socket, and she had other serious rectal issues due to worms, etc. We were referred by another vet to POOLER Vet Hospital because of their skilled surgical services. WOW. What an amazing place. We made an appointment to have our newly adopted kitten's eye removed. When POOLER VET received her medical records and saw she was in a bad way they moved her surgery to the next day. The staff and the doctors are sooooo kind and helpful - true animal lovers. After surgery our kitty stayed a couple nights to recover. Dr. Ammermon proactively called us himself each day to give us an update on her. He answered all our questions - and was patient and attentive in caring for our new little girl. In a follow up visit we were lucky to meet his wife Dr. Myra Ammermon who was also exceedingly skilled, knowledgable --- and such a warm and genuine person. Every staff member we came into contact with in person or by phone was professional, helpful and incredibly good with animals. You can tell all of them REALLY CARE about the animals and the families they work with. These are wonderful people. I am so delighted to have found such an amazing place to take our furry family members. Do not hesitate to take your pets to this place. Dr. Mike and Dr. Myra are an amazing team who truly care for pets and their owners. Dr. Mike performed surgery to fix Gracie's luxating patellas and I am so thankful to have found him. Before I took Gracie home, he made sure I knew exactly how to care for her and gave me a step by step rehab schedule. Gracie even kisses the techs (something she does not do). I recommend Pooler Vet to anyone who wants honest and loving care!!! They also have great prices!!
