I have been coming here for more than 20 years. I would never consider going anywhere else. The doctors and techs here are great. They have worked with me through a variety of issues. Always great service at a fair price.
We took our dogs to VCA Pets Are People Too in Chamblee for a long, long time, but have finally switched to another vet. The staff here is reasonably friendly, most of the time, and I think they took okay care of our dogs, but the care has become more and more generic over the years, especially since VCA took over several years ago. The doctors seem to change frequently, so there's no continuity. It seems like they treated all dogs basically the same; it's all just routine. Their prices also crept up, and we seemed to be asked to approve expensive x-rays or other treatments. I don't think you'd necessarily go wrong here, but it's somewhat generic, and a bit expensive.
I don't know who put these bad reviews but this place is awesome, my cat has occasional bladder and urine problems, they let me opt out the expensive procedures and just get an exam and antibiotics. Very clean, great service
I won't give them a 1 star review simply because they are friendly, but of course that is how they draw you in. I had a sick kitten I recently adopted and was looking for some help to cure her URI. After 1 visit it was $250 for 2 medicines, the visit, and an eye stain. This seemed very pricey to me but my roommate and I paid it. We came back 5 days later stating there was no improvement and they then gave us another $150 dollars worth of charges and medicines. I called the shelter I got my cat from (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO GETS CATS FROM SHELTERS TO DO THIS) and they told me what to do to take care of the cat and it was far cheaper. VCA is all about price gouging and making bottom line over fixing the problem. I do not recommend it unless you want to go through the same experience I went through. Other than friendliness and location (less than 5 minutes from my house) this company is not something I'd recommend to anyone who loves their pets.
They pressured me to purchase unnecessary expensive heartworm medicine for my feline. Despite the fact I told the veterinarian my cat is strictly indoors he told me I was risking my cats life and he would become infected with heartworms by mosquitoes entering the house. I finally caved and purchased the $120 revolution package which I later found was sold else where for $60. So be careful dealing with these people. Their goal is to milk your wallet dry first, then tend to your pets needs.
