I have been taking my animals to Honey Creek Vet since the late '80's. There is no one associated with the practice that I would not trust implicitly. They have all gone above and beyond what are strictly their jobs, helping us to say goodbye to the best dog in the world, helping out with some winged friends, offering advice on an emotionally disturbed dog that I (foolishly) rescued, and not being judgmental when eight years later we had to put him down because he attacked my daughter and I, or when another foolish dog successfully escaped the house (once in 12 years!) and got hit by a car. They take their time, making sure that the situation is explained to whatever level of detail the client desires, giving excellent care, and make follow up calls when the situation warrants it. Even the techs are very understanding and willing to work with difficult dogs. There MIGHT be better vets somewhere, but I sure haven't met them.
Vet Asley Carter said my dog who is 14 years old might have a disease and suggested a test. She said the results would be back the next day. I patiently waited for two days for the results. My dog is my child. She was absent from work on Wednesday because her children were sick. I understand. She is off the next day because it is her day off. The test results are in but only she can give the results. I am told that if she doesn't make it in tomorrow , I still have to wait. My best friend 's dog had the same test and was notified the next day. She was put on medication immediately to save her life. My pet is just another pet to her, not my child. Most professionals would call their patients in spite off being off or at least e-mail them . I am sure if Ashley's doctor told her that her children's tests would have to hold she would be livid. The receptionist at the office said that was their policy and they couldn't make any exceptions. The owner, Dr. Nance was there but could not come to the phone or call me back. I spend over $1000. a year at this office. This is just chump change for a veterinary hospital but for a disabled woman this is a lot of money. I sympathize with women who work and raise children at the same time. Sometimes a person needs to turn her duties elsewhere if she constantly out due to family emergencies. This month she had to be out a week due to sick children. It is a terrible thing when your children are sick. It is a terrible thing to pay for services and not get reslts as promised. Bottom line don't go to Honey Creek Vet if your pets are part of your family. Only go here if you don't care as much as I do and have money to burn. I am constantly hearing that my pet is fat. Over half of the staff at Honey Creek are obese. My dog has a thyroid disease and is not being treated for it because her vet has problems. When Ashley is pregnant , a medical issue, I do not call her fat. I don't expect my dog to be called fat because he has a thyroid condition, or possibly worse since his liver test was not perfect. I will probably never know because of their policy. I am in the process of finding another vet. If you want to waste your money on a facility that is often dirty this is the perfect place to go. If you want to be treated badly this is the place to go. I hope this will keep another pet healthy . The choice is yours. Choose wisely.
We have been with this vet for 3 years and love the service they provide! They are helpful and very knowledgeable. The Dr. called us right back at 4am on a Sunday morning about an emergency we had. We could not ask for more. They always spend as much time as well need when we visit. This vet gets 5 stars from our family.
