All the vets at this practice are extremely knowledgable, compassionate and cost conscious. I love the way they consult with me about my options and allow me to take part in my pet's health care. I have dogs and cats, and I take in fosters, so I have spent a lot of time at this office. They are a first class operation, and I feel fortunate that they are located in this neck of the woods.
Our kitten was presumed to be unable to recover from being stepped on. His lower jaw was broken and he had head trauma....At first he could not even move...he just hung limp.....Dr. Cecily advised to just give it time....he stayed in a box overnight and went to the hospital the next day.....the staff kept him for a few days to see if he could make a recovery....He started to make progress, and Dr. Cecily operated on his jaw to repair it....He has not been home for a full week and he is darting around the house like nothing ever happened....He is eating very well and other than the wire holding his jaw together while it heals, he seems completely normal....it is truly miraculous. I am grateful that the staff was so good to him and that Dr. Cecily chose to pursue saving his life instead of writing it off as a lost case.....This cat was given to us from a neighbor who found him on the side of the road....But he is, hands down, the sweetest cat I have ever met.....He is so loved by my children and I...
I'll start off on a positive note, the staff is very friendly. BUT, when our family had to spend a weekend out of state and leave our small dog in boarding, nothing could have gone worse. Soon after I hesitantly dropped off my dog in a tiny miserable cage, they proceeded to call all our local vets to find my dog's vaccination records. Hours later, our family already in another state, they called to inform us my dog was missing many vaccinations and they could not keep her there without them. Having no other option, we agreed to pay for them. After our trip, I returned to a $150+ bill (to what was originally $40 for boarding) and the most traumatized little creature ever. She growled so furiously at the woman that helped me get her out of her cage (something I had never seen my dog do. It was actually scaring me). My dog now hates all other human beings and animals. She cannot as much as hear unfamiliar human voices without growling and hiding. I'm sure the staff was as professional as they could be, but please think twice before leaving your dog to board here, it really can be a miserable experience for them. Opt for a doggy sitter instead.
Dr. Pam and Dr. Rob take care of our horses and burrow. They are exceptional! Not a bad word about them. However, the owners here are goverened by the almighty dollar and do not care about people or the pets the tend to. I called to inquire about them holding my check for less than 24 hours until my payroll check could clear, oh no! How dare I ask that!!!! I hate that Dr. Pam and Dr. Rob has to work for owners that do not share their views. So, I had to reschedule a procedure that Dr. Pam said was critical for my senior dog. These owners would let a pet die before helping someone - so sad. I'm basing the 5 stars off Dr. Pam and Dr. Rob. I have never, nor will I ever let the owners handle my dogs/cats. I will pay a premium and go to an emergency service before I let them touch them. I have a fear they would inflate charges just to get that extra $$.
We are so blessed to have veterinary care of this caliber in Habersham County. I credit Dr Doug and all the staff at Northeast Veterinary Hospital in Cornelia, GA with saving the life of our little miniature dachshund Maggie during her recent bout of hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. It was absolutely terrifying to see her get so ill so quickly. With their excellent and compassionate care, our Maggie is well on her way back to full health. Of note, Dr Doug and his wife recently took over the vet practice and now they have Saturday and Sunday hours as well as 24 on-call veterinary care only a telephone call away. If you love your pets, this is the place for you!
