Let me start by saying the Vets and Vet Techs have always been very pleasant and helpful, it's the front office staff that's led me to this review. We have a puppy who we began taking there and like any new puppy parents we have had a lot of questions. I understand it can get irritating, but the staff up front do not try to hide their annoyance at all. Every phone call has been abrupt and rude, even when I first enter the clinic and say hello I get nothing in return. No how are you, welcome to the clinic, or even small chit chat. (This hasn't been one occasion, it's been every visit). When entrusting the care of your animal to people, I think first impressions are important. We dealt with Jenny today, who hopefully was just having a bad day, but that was the last straw. We will be taking our animals elsewhere.

You can count on great service and knowledgeable staff when you go to Lavista Animal Hospital. They always take the time to explain you everything that is going on, and they really care about animals. I have brought my dog here for three years, tried another vet because I moved to another area and had an emergency, but I will drive the extra miles to keep coming here.

We love our vet. They have handled everything from my dog's snakebite to my guinea pigs skin condition and have always been friendly, fast and fair.

I have had pets all my life, and was excited to find a facility that offered so many in-house services and procedures that was close to home. Unfortunately, I found the customer serivce and pet care (most important!) to be very disappointing. I rescued a kitten that had been abandoned in a parking lot and went to LaVista for her first exam, vaccinations, standard tests, and to be spayed. The services were extremely expensive - even for the area - over $330 for a just the routine spay. The procedure didn't go well, and I had to bring in the kitten twice after surgery to correct loose staples. It seems as if my questions were not welcome, although I think asking why staples were used on a 4.5lb kitten is a very valid question. I worked for a vet clinic for 2 years in college and was surprised and disappointed with each visit to this facility. However, there is one female veterinarian I saw on one visit and she was excellent. Unfortunately, my experience with the rest of the staff was enough to make me go elsewhere. The convenient location was absolutely not worth the apathy and rudeness of the staff or the inflated costs. With all the complications, I was never even called by anyone at the facility to follow-up. There are many other vet clinics and hospitals in the area; I would not reccoment this facility.

I go to this vet because it is conveniently located for me, and compared with Tucker and Dekalb Animal Hospitals, had better prices. The staff seems pretty nice, although I think they could use to be a little speedier and efficient. It seemed clean, and I like that they have padded benches instead of chairs, so the dogs can sit with you. What I do not like, however, is that they take the dogs in the back when getting their shots. I like being with my dog the entire time. However, the vet (Dr. Walton?) seems pretty knowledgable.
