I've taken two dogs and a cat there for shots during their monthly vaccine clinics (usually 1st Saturday of every month). The staff is great and the prices are much less than what a "full service" vet would charge. The only drawback is there is sometimes a significant wait to see the vet, but they will take your cell phone number and call when its close to time for the vet to see you. That's a good option, particularly if you live nearby. One of my dogs had a "lump" under its leg, and after examining him, the vet assured me that it was not anything to be concerned about. My understanding is that they will refer you to a full service vet for anything they don't do at the monthly clinic. If your pets are healthy and you're just looking for a annual vaccines and a quick check from a DVM, all for a reasonable fee, PPOG is the place to go.
Just wanted to express my happiness with this office. I did spay Georgia for a reduced cost to spay and neuter my 2 56 and 66 pound 9 month old puppies. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. The vet tech was excellent in handling the dogs, took the time and patiently went over all specifics for the after care. There were very minimal additional cost (just $10 each for the cones, which I heard are up to $25 each at other places), actually my dogs scheduled rabies shots were included in the cost I paid thru spay Georgia. I researched all the Vets that accepted the coupons from spay Georgia and Planned Pethood by far had the best feedback and they superbly lived up to those reviews. I recommend Planned Pethood for anyone looking to spay or neuter their animals either thru a program like spay Georgia or directly with them. I thank them for the care they provided for my loved animals and the courtesy they provided to me.
Planned Pethood is a Godsend. We took our new cat to them for spaying, vaccinations, the works. They are so accommodating, and the prices are really excellent, they really take care of the animals and answered all my questions patiently, informatively and kindly! They do a great thing and I highly recommend them.
So far, everyone I have dealt with there has been really knowledgeable and kind. The pricing is so great it's almost unbelievable! I don't have a pet of my own, but I've been an animal rescue volunteer for years and I'm always looking for more ways to help out the furbutts. Planned Pethood will loan out traps you can use to catch stray/feral cats, bring them in to get spayed/neutered, and release them back into their habitats. They also snip the ear so that people will know if that cat has already been altered. Depending on the situation, you may be able to get an even lower price than usual for this. It is SUCH a good way to help decrease the excess population without spending too much money. They also have a few clinic cats that hang out and you can pet them or play with them. They add atmosphere!
Planned PEThood has to be the BEST organization for getting your cat or dog spayed or neutered in the entire ATL metro area. I cannot recommend them strongly enough. They answer their phones (most other non-profit spay/neuter organizations do NOT, I have learned from experience. Go ahead, call around and see who answers their phone. You will be stuck wasting your day calling any other non-profit and trying to speak to a person -- ask me how I know!) Planned PEThood, in addition to answering their phone, also takes walk-ins at 7:30 a.m. for dogs and 8:00 a.m. for cats if, for whatever reason, you can't get ahold of anyone on the phone (unlikely, since they do answer it) or you can't make a reservation online. Additionally, they are very polite and professional, and patiently explain any and all pertinent details to whoever brings in an animal. They are also kind and gentle with all the animals in their care. Since they are a non-profit organization, their prices are very reasonable. I seriously can't say enough good things about them. You can tell they truly love animals and want to make a positive difference in the world, and they DO. I have had a wonderful experience with them, so I will be recommending them to anyone who needs to spay/neuter their dog or cat.
