AMAZING PEOPLE AT BANFIELD!!! My fiance and I were already impressed by the care the vets at Banfield showed our dogs when we got started on the wellness plan. This morning I had to rush our 2 1/2 month old puppy to them after she got a bamboo skewer wedged in her throat. Not only were they fast and efficient in removing the stick, they comforted and assured me in my time of hysteria. I will never go to another vets office again! Thank you so much Banfield!!!!!!
I am stuck for another year in a Banfield Wellness plan, but after this no more. I found another vet office that does a slightly more expensive plan, but comparable to what Banfield offer. I was trying to order my dog's heartguard medication from an online source, because she doesn't like the pill stuff that banfield carries. So I entered my information, and have them verify with the doctor for her prescription. The company told me that Banfield cannot find the prescription. Then the company tried again and Banfield said that they need to do the heartworm test on her. Well. I brought my dog in for an annual check up in December, that was to include heart worm testing. But Banfield said that they didn't do it because she was also getting her tumor removed. Fair enough. But why didn't Banfield tell me that so that I can schedule her for another day to get her heartworm test? Because they are lazy and uncaring. That's not the only negative thing that they have done this year. They also neglected to check her eyes during the 2 subsequent times that I brought her back for her suture removal and for her wound check from her surgery. And now she has blood vessel infiltrates of her cornea. This requires me to be on further extensive medications and might even cause her blindness. I am going to take her today for her heartworm test, and for a check up on her eyes. If her eyes are not progressing and will result in her losing her eye. Not only will not dis enroll my pet from their plan, but I am going to sue them for neglect.
I initially came to Banfield because they ran a summer special for a Rabies vaccination with no office visit fee. I received decent care for my sweet weim boy and I thought that they were friendly. Initially, they did not try to add on any additional fees with the vaccination. I later signed up for the "Wellness Plan" because I was convinced that it was a great way to make sure that my dog was taken care of without putting a huge dent in my wallet. For the most part, everything was fine. I started having a lot of trouble recently though: they gave my pup 6 vaccinations at the same time during his annual physical and surprise, surprise he had an awful reaction and had to be hospitalized with IV fluids ($$). The staff tells me every single visit that I have vaccinations that are overdue even though they are the ones who gave him the vaccinations. This last visit, the vet argued that the computer systems are not usually wrong and was ready to give him "atleast a rabies shot" but on her double check she found that they had, in fact, vaccinated him this year. They try to add on every ridiculous product or service that they can to jack up your bill. They treat you like you are a horrible pet owner if you dont pony up when they send their nurse in to break the news about the cost. The wait times are ridiculous, especially at the Lawrenceville location. Don't even consider Banfield if you appreciate warm, caring, personal service. This is the assembly line of vets. Don't waste your money on the Wellness plan either, most of the things that they want to do are not included anyway.
We counted on Banfield to perform surgery on my small dog who had swallowed some foreign object. They quoted the price and we proceeded. After surgery they showed us before and after x-rays ans admitted they did not get everything out. They then sent us to an over night hospital with the dog. The next day they offered to do surgery and correct their earlier miss for an additional $800! So I guess the motto of Banfield is "If we make a mistake...no big deal...just pay us again to fix it!" Please select wisely in obtaining excellent care for your pet. We thought we did but sadly found out otherwise. We had to find a second surgeon to remedy the issue. Later we learned he also took care of the Banfield surgeon's own cat, she did not take care of her own animals.
