I brought our sweet Bella in today to have her teeth cleaned. What a class act operation! I was very impressed with the staffing and Dr. Cook. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone that is looking for the best care for their pets. I give them five stars, actually six if I could! We have found our new vet!!!!! Leigh and Mark Kaus
Brought my dog to Gwinnett Animal Clinic in hopes of finding a new vet. My vet had become all about the money and less about the pet. My dog need to have some fatty tissue lumps removed and a skin tag on the eye removed. Took him in and pointed out all the places in question. Made an appt. to bring him back. Took him in and was able to pick him up at 3:00. Surprisingly to me, they had only removed the skin tag on the eye. The lumps were still there. They claimed their technician said my husband told him not to remove them which he didn't. The whole point was to take them while he was under anesthesia for the eye. Took him back the next day where they put him under again. Went to pick him up after three and two of the lumps were still there. They claimed my husband told them to just take the ones on the back leg. Really?!! He got sick this time from the anesthesia so we decided to wait to take him back in for that right away. We waited the suggested time to have the stitches removed and the technician said everything was healed up nicely. A couple hours later, my son brought to my attention that my dog's back surgical cut was gaping open, obviously not healed enough to remove the stitches. Called at 5:30 and after explaining what was going on was told they were about to close. The Dr. got on the phone and said she'd wait if I'd bring him on over. I did and the whole time she's stapling the wound up (with no local numbing) she was saying how she had to get out of there to pick her child up at daycare. Was wondering why someone would work in the medical field with all it's emergencies without a backup plan for picking up her child if she was help up. While stapling him I pointed out a lump very close to the one she took out and she agreed that she didn't possibly see how she'd missed that and that it was really obvious. Got him home an hour later two of the staples came loose. It was too late to go back, so put a bandage over it to hold until the morning. Called to make the appt. and stated my displeasure as well as surprise they stapled him up without numbing him first. Was told the staples didn't hurt, they stapled themselves all the time. Maybe so, but not on skin that is fresh from surgery. He winced every time they put one in. Decided to having the remaining lumps removed since he had to go under to have the other place sewn up again. A different Dr. (Dr. Wallis I believe) worked on him this time. Was told later when I called that the Dr. wanted to speak with me. Not "your dog came through just fine and he's o.k.", just the Dr. wants to speak with you. Their front office staff has horrible customer service skills. Spoke with Dr. Wallis and thought I should ask about what lumps he took just in case. I mentioned the one the other Dr. and I found on the rear leg. He said, "what lump". Really? Obviously, no one had put this in his file. He put me on hold and said it'd be no problem to take that off with a local. Felt more confident with this Dr. in charge. Will not see anyone else but him in the future. I will go back there because they do have good prices, but if the office staff continues to have the same demeanor, not sure I'll be able to deal with that. It's the younger ones. There was an older front desk person that seemed to know what she was doing. The others not so much. Taking him back in today to get the final stitches out so we'll see how that goes. This was over a four day period. Something that should have been taken care of in one day.
Gwinnett Animal Hospital is the best. We carry our 3 GSD and 2 cats. Wonderful services.
Dr. Wallis is awesome! The BEST vet. I have been a client for 5 years and I have had the best care for my dogs and very reasonable fees. You can tell he CARES about our babies and cares about their people too. I highly recommend this practice and would NEVER trust anyone but Dr.Wallis and his staff for the care of my pets.
These Vets truly care about our pets...no fancy office...but truly caring Drs. and staff...would not use anyone else in GA!!!
