Our regular vet was out of town for an extended period when one of our rabbits got very sick. We were told VCA had a good exotic vet on staff and we were able to get an appointment. Dr. Moon and her staff were excellent and our little guy bounced back to health. We feel had they not given him the great care they did, we would not have him still with us today

I Love VCA Avalon so much! I have my very first dog with my family, Jackson, and they love him, know him by name always remember what he had before and I recently traveled to Mexico and they more than helped me deal with all of the Paperwork. I have been going to VCA since Jackson was about 5-6 months and he is now 13 months old. I love the way they treat us and especially Jackson. The monthly reminders and check-up scheduling are always nice to get in the mail! We love the staff so much!

WOW! Avalon VCA Animal hospital is the worst! I let them know that my pet needs critical care (which is not a medicine, it is a food) they stated that they can not sell me anything with out him getting an exam w them which cost $73.35. I let them know he has gotten his exam yesterday and is leaving the vet today and the doctor stated that he needs it but they do not carry it. Also the pet stores around here dont carry it. They said with out the pet not having an exam there he can not get it there. I told them so you dont care that the doctor already said he needed it you will not provide help to an animal in need? I told them i will bring all his paperwork from the vet and what every they need and they still refused to help!!!

Dr. Delong is one of the most caring and qualified Vets that I know. His staff is normally competent and friendly. Pet health care is not free or cheap, so as long as you realize they need to run a business and charge for pet care, I would highly recommend them. I have been to a number of vets and I do not think that any of them will always make you happy - but believe VCA Avalon is more likely to.

I wish I could give this place a review of terrible. My 8lb Yorkie swallowed medicine intended for my 150lb German Shepherd and he needed immediate attention. I took him to VCA-Avalon as it was the closest location to me. They took my dog to the back and I assumed it was to induce vomit. About 10 minutes later I was escorted into a room and given an estimate for what needed to be done that totaled just less than $500. I felt like they knew my desperation and I told them I'll pay whatever just make him better. I told them I had $100 and my check would be clear tomorrow morning. The assistant told me she would speak with her manager. 10 minutes later she returns to tell me I can fill out credit application for the services, we can wait to see if I am approved, then they can help my dog. The same dog that had ingested a poison about 45 minutes prior. I told them I don't want to wait any longer and if I could speak with the manager. She told me she would get the manager and then she returned with my dog. So I could only assume the manager had nothing to say to me and wasted about 30 minutes of my time and dog's life. I left angrily, and took my dog to Beaver-Crossing Animal Hospital. As soon as I walked in I told them what happened and one of the girls immediately took my dog to induce vomiting. Excuse me, I mean she immediately cared about my dog's well-being and not about my payment situation. They took me to the back while they began to work on my dog and prepared me an estimate for services which came to half of VCA's original estimate. They had no problem waiting until the next day for the rest of the payment and they've now earned all of my business. If you're in need of vet services go see Dr. Smith from Beaver-Crossing Animal Hospital and don't put yourself through the extra trouble that VCA will provide you. As an avid animal lover I find VCA-Avalon greedy, callous, and unqualified to work on any of my animals or yours.
