My grandparents, aunts and uncles have gone to see Dr King for 20 years now. All our animals have been under his care. As all other reviewers agree, he is gentle, thorough, and methodical. He is also very honest too. Because he has been around so long, he has established a very dedicated client base. Meaning it can be hard to get an appointment. And some Of the receptionists have been there almost as long as Dr King has. They stay late far more than you or I do. (Can't say how many after-work panic calls he has taken from my family) so if they seem to have heard it all before, it is because they have. And they have stayed late for it all before. They know a true emergency from a mommy-panic. We trust westside vet with all our babies. And will do so as long as they're in business.

Dr. King is very passionate about what he does, and he really takes the necessary time to answer all your questions and concerns about the health of your pet. The front desk person at first was not friendly, but she soon opened up. The place is very small and old, but the service and the care your pet receives is excellent. I definitely recommend. The $.... VERY AFFORDABLE.

The way a receptionist answers the phone makes a world of difference to a person deciding whether or not to use a facility. I need to take my pet to the doctor ASAP as she's having some serious problems so I decided to do my research and look for the best clinic nearby as I have just moved into the area. I decided to take her to this clinic because of the great reviews. However, when I called to make an appointment the receptionist seemed as if she had heard a million times before what I was saying and really didn't take into consideration that I needed to see a doctor today. She asked me if I wanted an appointment for Monday or Friday....I told her again that I needed to see someone today if possible. She advised me that if I wanted to come in and sit around and wait, I could, and that if they find some time they will try to fit me in. I do understand that many clinics may not take walk-ins, however there are better ways of addressing the situation other than acting like you do not care and telling someone to come in, sit around and wait until you feel like fiting them in. If the receptionist is this nonchalant I can imagine the doctors. I'll take my baby somewhere else.

I have been taking my dogs to Dr. King at Westside Veterinary for 8 years, and have had wonderful experiences with the staff each time. Peanut and Smokey get great medical attention from a loving vet. Even after moving over an hour away, we still continue to come to Westside as our first choice!

Their care and concern is phenomenal! I have taken my dogs to Dr. King since they were puppies and I would never go anywhere else. He is compassionate and truly cares about his clients and their pets. I always feel like my dogs and I are the most important customers he has. When I had to put my 15 year beagle to sleep in July, Dr. King and his staff were so wonderful. They made an awful experience bearable. They cried with me, called me to see how I was doing, and sent a sympathy card. If you want your pet to have loving care, call them.
