This was the worst, most unprofessional, and uncaring vet I have ever been to. I am from Oregon, but was going to school in Savannah and needed to get my kitten neutered. I dropped him off and was supposed to pick him up that afternoon. An hour after I was supposed to hear from them they called to let me know that his heart has stopped during the surgery and that, while he was now awake, he had been without oxygen for five minutes and would not survive the night. They told me to come say goodbye to him. Before I could get there they called back and said that he seemed to be getting better, not to come since they were closing, and that they would call me in the morning. I waited, but the call never came. So I called them. The lady who answered the call told me she didn't know anything about my cat and couldn't help me. I asked to speak to someone who did. The man who spoke to me next assumed (very wrongly and confusingly) that I was calling to have my cat put down and informed me that they refused to do it. I had never mentioned this and was also offended by the assumption. I told him I had been waiting for them to call me and just wanted to know how he was doing. He laughed and said they were so busy that "sometimes phone calls like that slip through the cracks" and then again told me that I was not "allowed" to put my cat to sleep. I went to visit him the next day (the only day they told me I could) and found him filthy and with all his nails clipped to the point of bleeding or having turned purple. He was completely blind and could not move because of brain damage from the surgery, but cried and purred when he smelled and heard me. They told me he was doing better, but he might never be able to walk or see again. The next time I came to see him they told me he couldn't come home until he could walk and eat on his own. Seemed fair enough until they showed me how they were testing this. They were putting him on a slick metal table and when he couldn't stand (he was newly blind and had no idea where he was or how to balance on a textured surface, let alone metal) and then telling me that he couldn't leave yet. I said he needed to come home and they finally agreed. When I went to pick him up I looked over the bill they handed me and saw that they were charging me for BOARDING him there. They were also charging me for canned cat food but refused to let me leave without it either. I said I would pay for the surgery, but absolutely not for the "boarding". After arguing for a while the lady finally looked at the bill and said "whatever, it's only $150, just give it to her". It was so condescending and rude. I took him home, but him on carpet, and he immediately stood up and walked. I put food in front of him and he ate even though they informed me I would have to mix food with water and force a syringe down his throat. Worst experience I've ever had with a vet.

I took my dog here for a chipped tooth that I was concerned about. The vet stated that it needed to be pulled and priced out the procedure for me on the spot there. I found the price very reasonable (especially since they did a teeth cleaning during the procedure) and the vet was really good with my post-op concerns. The staff is friendly and the veterinarians are both great guys!

I have taken two of my snakes to see Dr. Gall and I have been very pleased both times. He has a genuine interest in reptiles and it shows in his work. He's very kind to my pets and always gives them the best care. I wouldn't dream of taking any of my babies to anyone else.

Not to just blatenly say that this vet sucks... but this vet sucks. Not only did they misdiagnose my dog, but the dr.... after my dog had spent an entire night there... continuously called HIM and SHE repeatedly when explaining what he did and what i needed to do to help him get better. Not only that, but my dog was so poorly misdiagnosed that he actually ended up having to get put down because we didn't have time to treat him for what he had because by the time we actually figured out what he had, it was already too late. In my opnion if i'm leaving my animal with a vet over night... they should at least know what gender it is. Just saying

I'm sorry that so many people had such negative experiences, but mine was quite different. The staff was very friendly and kind. They were sweet and loving toward our dogs. We were in and out fairly quickly. The bill ended up being a lot less than I expected which was great considering we don't have pet insurance. They weren't pushy about tacking extras on. I don't think our vet was Dr. Gall. She was a lady whose name I didn't catch and she was super nice. I'm definitely going back to Chatham Animal Hospital from now on and I wholeheartedly recommend them.
