During our last experience with the Cat Clinic of Woodstock, there were several critical errors made in our cat’s medical care. First, the doctor ordered a urine culture which was never performed. My cat ended up with an obviously stressful UTI and this necessitated another taxing trip to the vet. It was especially traumatic since my cat had to wait hours at the clinic since his bladder was empty and they had to wait till it was full to get a sample. Next, he was prescribed antibiotics, but an incorrect label was put on the bottle and we found that we were incorrectly dosing him. During the course of treatment, we also found that he not only has a heart arrhythmia, he also has a blood clot in his heart. He was prescribed medication for this and had a few bad days, then started to dramatically improve. But within two weeks, he started showing signs of another UTI (presumably because he was not dosed correctly during the original infection). I called the clinic the next morning (Monday) and asked to talk to a doctor. I kept being told they were too busy right now, but was able to get an Rx for a different antibiotic, though I still wanted to discuss my cat’s case with a doctor. I called several times the next two days and was told the same thing. Finally, Tuesday night I get a call, not from a doctor or even a vet tech, but from a clueless administrator that not only could not answer a single question, but also told me that it was the “staff consensus” that my cat was at end of life and I just needed to accept that. Needless to say, I never spoke to a doctor, nor were any of my questions ever answered. Right now, my cat is recovering nicely; he is still eating, he sits in the window in the sun, he sits in our laps. As long as there is still light in his eyes, we will treat him with all the love, respect and dignity he deserves. We know we may not have much longer with him…I don’t need an uncompassionate administrator to tell me that. I can go anywhere to get incompetent care and cold-hearted administrators. We will definitely NOT be driving the extra miles to the Cat Clinic of Woodstock. The busy doctors who couldn’t spare 10 minutes to answer a few questions should be happy to know that they have two less patients to worry about as we have transferred both our cats’ records to a new clinic. Based on this last experience with the Cat Clinic of Woodstock, I would rate this establishment with 0 stars if I could. But to be fair, we have had some good experiences in the past and the facility is nice for cats, so 1 star.

I drive past two other Animal Hospitals to come here, even in emergencies. They truly care about your pet, not just the money. Their prices are very reasonable, the staff is friendly and quick to respond. I would recommend them to everyone.

The vet tech who took my cat's blood sliced open his neck and left a gaping wound. Why she was using a razor blade on my cat to take blood, I don't understand, I have never been to a vet that shaved before taking a blood sample. I would not recommend this place to anyone because of the vet tech. I hate giving anyone a bad review but people need to know. It haunts me to know the pain my cat went through because of this razor blade incident...there is more but I don't want to make people cry. Again, sorry to have to leave anyone a bad review but people need to know what is going on here.
