my best friend took a sick cat to this place. the money that they charge is completely insane. 285 for xray. 50 for one injection of lasix. 104 just to walk in the door. they do not care about animals......only money. all about money. horrible.....
On their website, they said that they take in injured wildlife for treatment and send them out to rehabilitation. It's a surrender type situation so they rely on donations for care of these animals. My daughters brought to me a wild bird with a broken leg. As animal lovers, we read stories of birds with broken legs being mended and rehab'd all the time. I thought I was in luck when I found this place for the poor bird. If I'd known what they were going to do then I would NOT have taken the bird here. The "vet", I am supposing, decided that it would be more "humane" to euthanize the poor thing instead of treating it and finding a foster rehab home for it. I think the issue was that they just didn't want to deal with it and since no one was paying for treatment it was cheaper and easier for them to kill it. I feel awful because I thought I was doing the right thing by bringing this injured, wild bird to a caring vet. Needless to say, I will NOT be taking any animal back to this place. Needless to say, I will NOT be making a donation. Do not take any wild animal here that has been injured. Call your local vet and find a good place to turn in that specializes in rehabbing it or do more research to find an authentic wildlife rehab place. I am very disappointed and am pursuing an investigation by submitting them to the ethics board of Georgia for Veterinarians.
I would never recommend this place to anyone. My puppy needed stitches on a Sunday, so my husband and I took her here for the first time. The place looked nice and it did not take long to be seen. However, my puppy was returned to me bleeding from the stitches. Even though she had an appropriate cone collar sized up to her nose, she lost 2 out of the 4 stitches on the second day and one of the remaining staples was inserted right inside the wound, not the skin around it to pull the skin back together. I paid over $200 for something I had to have another veterinarian fix less than 48 hours later. I called this hospital to have this fixed but they wanted me to pay the same fee all over again. The new stitches done by someone else never came out and I could tell a drastic difference in the quality of the work. Over 12 days later they are still intact without the use of the collar. I regret going to this clinic and wasting money there. I don’t mind paying any amount to have my puppy well and healthy but I felt like I threw this +$200 out the window. Very disappointing.
I will never go here again. I came in hoping my pet would receive the care and treatment she needed, but she did not. I actually left the business without my pet alive. If you care about your animal(s), do NOT take them here. Especially if you have a small pet. I will never, I mean EVER, go here again. I strongly suggest you find another vet and avoid this one at all costs.
I have taken my beagle here for two different emergency situations. The first time, my dog had been horribly sick, had diarrhea, vomiting constantly, and refused to drink any water. This left her severely dehydrated. I came into Cherokee Emergency Vet as a distraught crying mess, carrying my baby in my arms. They not only took amazing care of my pup, but dealt with my out of control emotional state with kindness and understanding. The second time, I had to bring her in for overnight monitoring due to chocolate poisoning. Once again, they took amazing care of her. These people have saved my best friend's life twice!
