I love this foundation. They do for animals that which no one else is willing to do. They are so devoted and thoughtful. It's not easy caring for as many in such different ways as they do. But they do it, and they do it with aloha. I'm so grateful that the Animal care foundation exists and that they persevere despite the whining, complaining and aggression that some of their patients exhibit without compassion, thought or understanding.

The worst experience I have ever had. I took my beloved persian cat to get his hair cut for the summer. It was to take 2 hours and I could pick him up...called at 10 am and they said to call back at noon, did and they told me to call back at 3 pm...and so on it went until 7pm....I showed up and demanded to see him....they had put him to sleep (he was 13 years old) without my permission and had shaved him...he had blood all over him. He never recovered from the stress and 4 months later he died. I HATE THIS PLACE...THE STAFF IS RUDE AND THE DOCTOR, WELL i AM USING THE TERM VERY LOOSELY. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS THERE..I BEG YOU.

We had our cat spayed and declawed and had a horrible experience from this facility. Even though the surgery was done early in the morning and she was doing well, they wanted to keep her overnight to monitor her since there was a risk of bleeding, infection, etc. in the first 24 hours especially. This was perfectly fine with me--until we found out that no one is there at night and that the place is literally deserted from 8:00pm-till morning, and she was not taken to a foster home or anything either. How can you monitor a pet when no one is there? What happens if she starts having complications after everyone leaves and is left to suffer (or worse) hours before anyone returns? We never got answers to these questions but was told it was simply "policy". When insisting we take her home so that at least SOMEONE could monitor her, the vet acted like we were idiots and were terrible to us. But really, after convincing us that the 1st 24 hours are so important, is leaving your post-surgery pet unattended for 10+ hours acceptable? I think not.

Bad service + expensive....... I took both of my dogs to this animal care foundation for about a year, we used ACF for years here in Hawaii Kai and were a loyal customer on the wellness plans but over time the service got really lagged. At the office there were many occasions when we had appointments, arrived and waited over 30 minutes in a waiting room to see the vet. There were other times when I dropped my dogs off at the time of my appointment first thing in the morning and when I called over 5 hours later I was told they hadn't even seen my dogs yet, they had in fact been locked up all day. Had I of known that I wouldn't have dropped them off until later. The last visit to this vet was about 2 weeks ago, I went in to get rabies shots for my 2 dogs, we had an appointment, arrived and were put into a waiting room. After about 15 minutes an employee came in and briefly talked to us and we waited there for approx one hour without anyone else coming into the room and finally decided to leave. I am not going to sit for over an hour ignored when I'm about to spend over $120 (it was $55 per pet when I was quoted). I went out to the main desk area and the receptionist lady was inside where the vet was laughing with another employee. The employee saw me and came out of the door and asked if I was all done and ready to check out, I told her no one had seen us yet. Her response was "yeah there was an emergency and they said it will probably be another 15 minutes before they can see you."..... I'm fine with emergencies, but what I am NOT fine with is being put into a waiting room and ignored. If there's an emergency then the VETERINARY who has time to chat with another employee, laughing at something has time to come and let me know sometime over that hour period "we are running behind, it will be a little longer." They were obviously not "busy" when I walked out, and the one knew it was going to be another 15 minutes at least so why didn't she let me know that? Anyways, my wellness plans just expired and I set them to not auto renew so I have since found another vet in Hawaii Kai, I now take my dogs too and they seem happier. At Animal Care Foundation, my small dog had to have a muzzle on every time the vet touched her, I still don't know why... And this new place she is happy as can be which I can't explain but it is a lot less stressful for her and that's all that matters. Plus it's a lot cheaper, I paid $39 total for rabies shots for both of my dogs at the new vet, ACF was charging me $120. I think I'll go with the place that has customer service and lower prices.
