Don't go here for an ear infection! Took my dog there for an ear infection and boy was it pricey. The worst part is that they told me that the next trip there for her checkup 10 days later would be free of charge, yet still charged me for "Treatment Plan - Medical Progress" - $35. Seriously what is that? And charged me for Lyme booster which they said was included in the first shot and I wouldn't have to pay that. So instead of having to pay nothing on the checkup, like they told me, I paid $61.50. As "a google user" said in his review these guys just charge too much for everything related to an ear infection, which isn't half as bad as lying to me. I'll just go ahead and go back to my old vet across town, the trip is well worth it.

Abel-Keppy Animal Hospital on Kimberly Road is superb! As a phsycian I have very high standards for medical care. I searched long an hard for a trustworthy vet clinic and I am happy to say that my search stopped here. From the front desk staff to the vets, the care is all around excellent. It is obvious that the staff loves what they do, cares deeply for their patients and cares for their human companions. Moreover, Dr. Kemmerer is THE BEST vet I have ever had. Not only does she have the best bedside manner, but she is extremely intelligent and uses the most current research in her clinical practice. She takes the time to explain everything in detail and will take the time to discuss clinical decisions with you in detail. She makes decisions that are by far in the best interests of animals. She will discuss all different kinds of treatments and the alternatives to treatments. For example, I asked about bringing my cat to the vet to be groomed and asked about sedating him. Dr. Kemmerer and I had an excellent discussion and she advised that she does her best to assist grooming the cat without sedation given that there is a risk associated with anesthesia. I sincerely appreciated her honestly and the fact that she would not place my cat under anesthesia unnecessarily. They also have an internet pet portal in which they keep all vaccination records, health visit records and appointment reminders. They are very connected! This makes my life much easier! Plus you can personalize your pet portal page and upload pictures of your pets - a nice personal touch. Abel-Keppy provides the best comprehensive care and I HIGHLY recommend them to you!!

I took my cat there for a check up he was acting strangely and was urinating outside his litter box, I asked for him to be sedated as he is a temperamental and would not let me the one who has bottle fed him since he was 2 weeks old poke around on him very much, the vet decided not to sedate him and to have vet tech hold him, he ended up not allowing them to have full exam, was diagnosed with urinary tract infection and given pills and asked for urine sample. I called several times about him because i couldn't get the sample he was urinating so little, they told me to keep giving him the pills and to get the sample, that was on a friday but sunday he was so sick he couldn't even hold his head up, I rushed him to emergency animal hospital where they said he had a bent urethra which is common in most large tom cats and should have been examined, but since he had not been able to urinate his kidneys were backed up and he was barely holding on for life. they told me they would try to save him but the out come was very grim and expensive his life would never be the same and he would have health problems for the rest of his life, they recommended putting him down to to take him out of misery, this was a very hard decision because he would have been 4 this october and he was out little guy, but we made the decision that was the hardest but the best for our little guy and let him go, he is now out under the shade tree, it was really one of the hardest days to deal with. When I called abel keppy on monday to let them know, the lady who answered they phone responded " and you want us to do what?" i really don't know what i had expected but maybe something along the lines of my apologies, sorry for your loss, my condolences, something just something to show that they regretted what happened but received nothing, I took my animals there because they are suppose to be the best, that is what i paid for and i did NOT receive. I paid for a full exam and did not receive one. I would never recommend them to anyone ever, for their lack of caring. I will be take the one animal that we have left our dog to a different vet, please save your time money and your pets life and take them else where

We gone here for a number years now. Our dog has hypothyroidism and they take very good care of her. The staff is very friendly. The doctors do all they can if something is a mystery and recommend going to a more advance animal hospital (Iowa State). Don't know what's up with Mr. Drunk, but he must be drunk if he thinks any veterinarian visit is cheap.

FYI if your dog has a ear infection do not go here. By far the most expensive visit our dog has ever had for this ear infection. Since our dog gets them often over the years we know the costs. Yet at this place they charge 52.70 for the examination patient weight, 27.95 for ear cytology exam which is looking at the ear goop under a microscope, 16.44 for Epi Otic 8oz which is a ear cleaning solution, 41.93 for Mometamax 15g which is the medication for the ear funk which is yeast. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!!!! By Mr. Drunk In The A.M. I will be talking about this crappy vet on my internet radio show today!!!!!!!!!!!!!
