On Friday, July 12, 2013, at 10:54, I was driving to visit a potential client on Mt. Vernon Road. I saw a black cat in the middle of the road that had obviously been hit be a car and was struggling to move. I stopped and moved it from the road. While I was deciding how to get care for it, I looked up and, of all things, saw a veterinary clinic....Animal Medical Center. I took the cat in and was turned away. They didn't want to see it, care for it, or even keep it in a cool place until I could arrange care. I explained that I would cover any costs incurred and was told simply, no. I took the suffering creature to the Humane Society (thankfully just down the road) and they agreed to hold it for me in a cool cage until I could change my appointment and arrange something. They even gave it a sedative so it would be more comfortable. I came back for the cat within 15 minutes and they gave me the still-living cat and a free plastic carrier. I took the cat to the 24-hour emergency clinic near the Cedar Rapids airport, but the critter expired on the way. The concern and care from the staff at both the Humane Society and the emergency clinic was very apparent....we were all saddened by the death of a healthy female short-hair. I'll let you make your own decision about the Animal Medical Center......but I would not trust them with a rat.

Apparently they do not want any new customers here. Front desk help was rude and the reason you pay less for services is because they have removed any form of customer service to prospective pet owners. We seriously walked out after being asked several times what shots we were there for after my wife had already called ahead and set up the appointment.
