I've grown up in the area and have known people to take their pets here, so when I moved back here with my fur babies this is where I took my pup. He(my dog at 2 years old) began throwing up and in a matter of 12 hours began throwing up blood. I rushed him in to the vet and after running $250 worth of tests, told me he was fine. I said that there must be something wrong, he is throwing up blood about every 90 minutes! To make me feel better, they sent him home with an oral antibiotic even after I stated that he can't keep anything down, how was he suppose to keep liquid antibiotics down? I brought him home and forced down the dosage. He immediately threw up, to which I scheduled him a same-day appointment with the Davenport Animal Hospital. He was diagnosed with severe ulcers and was dehydrated to the point of organ shut down at any moment. He was injected with an anti-nausea shot, then put on an IV. He was also given ulcer medication. All this vet had to do was look at the test results that Ambassador did and evaluate my dog's symptoms. I should also mention that when I called Ambassador to retrieve my test results/x-rays they said they were unable to get together the test results until after lunch break (I called about 10:30 AM). When I went to retrieve the test results at the given time I received from the receptionist, they still hadn't gotten the paperwork for me and I had to wait patiently for them to gather it together. I, nor my family members, were pleased with the way they reacted to my going elsewhere for a second opinion (which saved my boys life!) Needless to say, I will never be going back there. I feel as though they took advantage of my wallet and couldn't care less about my dog!
I found a kitten on the side of the road so wasn't exactly financially prepared for a pet. He took care of the kitten the first time no charge. Then when I had to bring her back a few days later, he kept her for a two-night stay to get her back on her paws and billed me when they normally ask for money at the time of service. Great people and they really care.
I have seen Dr. Scott Solberg as our regular Veterinary Doctor for all of our animals (cats, pittbulls, boxers, chihuahua, all kinds!) and Scott has been nothing but WONDERFUL and amazing. I had to make a move from Clinton, IA area back to the west coast of the United States, and have yet to find a Vet as extraordinary as Scott. He really cares about the animals. I rate Scott at Ambassador a 6 out of 5! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Went there for years.
