We took our 10 year old lab to St. Francis on November 17, 2014. She was very sick and we unfortunately had to put her to sleep. We waited about two hours until we saw the vet, she was the only good thing about our experience. I unfortunately cannot remember her name but she was thoughtful, kind and gentle and I thank her for her professionalism and care. The staff up front was very rude to others while we waited, however we did not experience the reality of their awful customer service until after our visit. I called about three weeks after we had put our dog down to check on the status of her ashes and paw print that we had ordered, the girl who answered the phone was uninterested, told me it can take six weeks, didn't even look to see if they were back yet and hung up. I called them back on January 5, 2015 inquiring into the whereabouts of my dogs remains and was put on hold, the woman who they transferred me to asked my name and phone number, rudely told me it would take her a while to look into it and she would get back to me. She then called my husbands number and left a message saying that they had located our dogs ashes but could not find the paw print. When he called her back she flat out told him that they probably gave the paw print away to someone else and there was nothing they could do about it. No apology, remorse or offer for a refund. She didn't care that they had lost the irreplaceable memento of our dog that we had waited months to get. The woman who handed over our dog's ashes to my husband also stated that she was pretty sure that they had been sitting there since before Thanksgiving. I am absolutely disgusted by this businesses customer service. Management should think long and hard about getting some employees who actually have compassion and care about the work they do.

St. Francis is the best - BUT - I hope everyone will join me in making a donation as Dr. Seng is suffering from a serious illness and the pet hospital has incurred financial problems due to a large backlog of non-paying customers. It is sad that people took advantage of the clinics policy of offering credit and opted out of paying even a very reasonable fee. Now that they are no longer extending credit and the deadbeats are gone, wait times are very much shorter. The last 2 times I brought a pet in I only had to wait 15 minutes.

I've taken several animals there. While Dr Seng is a very busy guy, he is the best vet out there. He had me bring my dog to his home to check her spine out before he left to the airport!! He's great, the place has fair prices and loving staff. I just wish he they would get rid of the carpet and put down a hard, easy to clean surface. The pet stains are more offensive to the eye than anything but hey- it's not Dr. Seng's dog or cat who piddled inside....

Yes the waiting room is small, and the building is definitely not fancy, but that's not why I go there. I go there because Dr. Seng, Dr. Andrews and the rest of the staff are AWESOME, and genuinely care about your pets. They go out of their way to give your pet the best care they can provide. They are also very good with working with you on payment plans if you can't afford to pay in one visit. The prices they charge can't be beat anywhere else I've ever been. My cat had to stay overnight two days at St. Francis, they charged 15 dollars a night. At the emergency animal clinic they tried charging me 900 dollars to stay one night. I recommend St. Francis to anyone who needs vet care for their pets. These are people who got into this profession because they love animals.

I started going to St. Francis Veterinary Hospital when my then 14 year old, beautiful black labrador retriever, Maggie, developed oral malignant melanoma. Dr. Seng was wonderful, treating her using a new cancer drug and several surgeries to try to save her life. I am disabled and have a very low income, but they worked with me so I could pay over time for her treatment. We kept her going for over 1 1/2 years, but the cancer eventually spread to her lungs and her life was becoming very difficult. Dr. Seng and is staff were very caring and compassionate when it was time to end her suffering at 16 years of age. I'll continue to take my pets to St. Francis as long as Dr. Seng is in practice! As for the state of the office, I'd rather have compassionate care for my pets (and myself) than a fancy office with exorbidant fees! If the ones who have complained about the size, organization, or cleanliness of the building care so much about it, maybe they could donate a few hours of their time to help clean and organize or donate some money towards improved bookkeeping. After all, we are not paying for a beautiful setting for the care of our beloved pets and that is why Dr. Seng can make his services affordable. Pets can't tell us when they hurt or when something is wrong. That is why, as guardians, we must learn to recognise our pets' body language. So often, by the time a person realizes something is wrong with their beloved pet, it may be too late for veterinary care to successfully treat them. I have listened to people blaming the vet for their pets' illness or death, when it is actually their fault for not getting their animal treatment in a timely fashion. We are guardians for some of God's most amazing creatures, and as such, we must make the responsibility of caring for them one of our highest priorities. After all, they do the same by giving us their unconditional love and affection!
