My immediate family, as well as extended family has been going to Dr. Dunham for almost 20 years, starting with our very first family pet. I have always thought the receptionist were somewhat off putting, but Dr. Dunham has always been very nice and caring. Our last family pet passed away in 2011, so we haven't needed to see Dr. Dunham since then. Since 2011, I have moved out of my parents house and recently got my own puppy. I called today and very politely asked if I could schedule an appointment for my new puppy. I said that my family has been going to them for 20 years with numerous dogs. She told me that since I no longer live at my fathers address, that I could not bring my dog in. So I asked her if I would have told her I lived with my father still, could she take me. She didn't say much after that. I understand there are rules, but there are also exceptions to the rule when you've been going to them for almost 20 years. Disappointed in this local small town business.
Dr. Dunham and the staff at the Norwalk Veterinary Clinic are the best. The reason that they are not taking any new customers at this time (as of 9-2014) is due to great work, very reasonable prices and the best service around. This Dr. and his staff are compassionate, understanding and down to earth. Like a great mechanic, physician or any other profession that does outstanding work at reasonable prices, his is always busy. His selfless dedication and service is second to none. The best advertising is satisfied customers, and this clinic will never have to do any traditional advertising. I give them 100 stars!
Dr. Dunham is wonderful! He knows that your pet is part of your family but also understands that money can be an issue for some. He had to keep our 7yr old beagle for the weekend to run tests and to keep a closer eye on her, I was concerned about the cost but he managed to keep cost down by only doing what was medically necessary. It wasn't cheap by any means but it sure could have been much worse especially when comparing prices to other vets in the area. The other thing I like, he doesn't pressure you or guilt you into to having certain testing or procedures done. He is up front and honest about what can be done and what should be done and leaves the decision up to you. My only complaint would be that he didn't run things by me before doing them, but I was okay with it after seeing what all he did for our Bella.
Dr. Frank is amazing, he truly cares about your pet. When my best buddy got sick, vomiting, lethargic, couldn't hold his food, I called just to get some advice. I couldn''t afford to bring the dog in, I have been unemployed. I mean Broke. Doc called me back, said bring him on in, we will keep him for the weekend. Of course I stuttered out, I can't afford it. Well, guess where he is? Now thats is a caring, compassionate vet, and I am thrilled to have him for my dog.
Just called this Vet about our 6 month old puppy to get her looked at as we were really concerned about her condition and was asked right off the bat, "have you been here before?" I told them that I we had not and here is what I was told, "oh, well I'm sorry but he does not take new clients and hasn't for a while so you might want to call another Vet." So after reading the previous review, I wouldn't consider this Vet, "amazing" and "cares about your pet".
