Dr. Ormond was very friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The staff at Mountain View made sure we had an outstanding visit and we WILL come back. The personalized welcome card we received in the mail from Dr. Ormond was a very nice touch as well. We felt that our business was appreciated and that they care about our dogs as much as we do.
Well ever since my vet referred me to these guys they were great with my dog. He is a bit psycho of a dog and doesn't really do anything for any vet they got him calm and collective without having to restrain him. They have a great gentle touch like a dog whisperer. I love them! I could not believe it! My dog had just been neutered and had his dew claws removed and was getting an infection in his dew claws. I brang him up to McCall with me and on the way down he was in alot of pain so I called them right up and they got him right in. The best thing is they can get you right in anytime! We didn't really have to wait very long seeing my dog needed a doggy wheelchair. I now go to them regularly because my old regular vet wasn't as good as these guys! And compared to my old vet these guys were cheaper, better and 24/7!
The big pro with Mountain View is it's hours. I loved that about them. I also think Dr. Maloney is a fine vet and he advised me during a really scary situation with one of my dogs. That being said, their prices are just prohibitive. They tell you about preventative services (heartworm, etc.) constantly, but those preventative services are probably 30-40% higher than most places here in the Valley. They also charge annual office visit fees for 6 month bordatella. So it's like $100 per dog (visit and vaccine markup) for a $5.00 intranasal vaccine. I am not sure how pricing out services so owner's start skipping normal things helps pay hourly salaries... I'd still use them in a pinch, but it just got a bit crazy to get the normal level of care I've provided to my dogs their whole lives. When I began complementing if I could just go to a farm store and get bordatella after YEARS of shelling out for most preventative services, dentals, everything...I knew Mountain View was not just a business, but mostly just a business. I stuck with them when the care I received was excellent. Recently, just lots of data points moving toward less than excellent so it was enough to move on to another vet with less than ideal hours, but excellent excellent care and more typical prices.
