We have taken our 14+ year old lab mix to Pets First for many years. We've never had anything but wonderful and professional experiences with any of the vets that have treated her. As our beloved dog has aged, Dr. Ecklund has been very honest about medications that she needs or doesn't, so that we don't spend money unnecessarily. They've even suggested other places to obtain her drugs that are less expensive. They spend time on the floor talking to her and loving on her, not just a "hit and run" visit. I referred a co-worker to them who is extremely particular about the handling and care of her toy breed dog and she can't say enough great things about her experience at Pets First either. We can't imagine going anywhere else.
Wow, do I love these people. And so do my pets. I could not believe that anyone would have written a bad review. So I really needed to do this. I am not a review writer usually, but had to let others know about my experiences. I have been a client since 2006, and have been in their clinic no less than 20 times. I have never witnessed anything but professional behavior and know the high standard Pets First maintains. Many of the staff members have been there for many years. They do not seem to have a big turn over. That in itself says a lot. They have watched one of my dogs grow from a extremely underweight, parasite infested rescue puppy, to the wonderful 106 pound sweetheart she is to day. That was over 4 years ago. She thinks that going to see Uncle Mike (Dr. Michael McKown) and his staff, is Fun Time, and gets so excited when I pull up into the parking lot. Unfortunately she was born with the ability to run like the wind, with no breaks. At about six months old this condition caused her to break a toe in an unusual way. Being the rambunctious pup she was, the break would not heal. We had to visit the clinic every other day and have her foot/leg re-wrapped and inspected. A painful experience for her each time. The possibility of infection and worst case would be amputation of the toe and or bone infection that could move up her leg. It took some time but the bone finally healed correctly with the care we received. With in a week of having her cast permanently removed and having new found freedom to go even faster. She took a corner too fast and hit her back leg so hard against the corner of the house she required seven stitches. How many vets do you know that would offer a discount in this situation? I know, how amazing. I have been to a lot of animal hospitals in my lifetime and have never been treated as well as we are at Pets First. I recently moved 45 miles away from their location, but continue to choose them because of the fabulous care and service that we receive. It is comforting to me knowing that they really do care about the well being of my family members.
Caring helpful, friendly staff. A Vet that has compassion for pets and owners alike. They won't sell you on things you pet doesn't really need. I trust them.
Took my dog there a while back, it was very over priced. The price I could afford, but the embarrassment that I had to go through was horrible. The main vet pretty much made one of the employees cry, while I stood in line to buy a treat for my dog. It was in the back, but you could clearly see what was happening. I asked the older lady at the desk if this happened before and she just nodded... There is no need for that kind of behavior in that type of work environment. Hated it.
Last year I took my cat, George in as he became very ill. He lost a ton of weight (rapidly). He recieved immediate care and Dr. Frost was very upfront about everything from the cost (which was affordable) to the test results. It turned out that George had hepatitis and it took a long time for him to get back to his normal self. I'm happy to report that today he's as healthy and fiesty as ever! I am grateful to the entire staff & would highly recommend them to all my friends.
