I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Williams for the last 12-13 years. He has seen them through many difficult, life-threatening medical situations including bloat, kidney cancer (he removed my dog's kidney in a very complex surgery), and two dogs with difficult to manage epilepsy. I have always found him to be thorough in presenting the options for care both medically and financially. He and his staff have always been available for phone conversations, including one early Sunday AM when he left church to call me back. I also appreciate that he is up-to-date on the newest medical advances such as new vaccination protocols and medications. I hope he continues to practice for as long as I have pets!
I've been going to Dr. Williams longer than I can remember. I started with him when he was practicing in Meridian and followed him when he moved to Eagle. He's seem me through at least five dogs from puppyhood to euthanasia. He now takes care of my two current dogs. He has always been compassionate, honest and fair but more importantly, he is an excellent veterinarian and a great surgeon. I would highly recommend him.
My dog a Boarder Collie had a growth on his paw. I took him here to have it checked out. In filling out the paper work I'm asked to select one of three options concerning costs. Option A is I'll spend anything, C is up to a limit, and B is somewhere in the middle of those. I chose option C with 200.00 max. I felt this quite generous given just an initial examination. Upon returning to get my dog I was greeted with a bill for 370.00. I was flabbergasted and asked what had happened. I got a sidestepped answer and could tell this conversation was not going to go anywhere, and I sensed my dog would not be brought out until the bill was paid. It turned out surgery was needed, and I reluctantly allowed Dr. Williams to do it. I received an estimate which was a range of approx 1,100.00 to 1,600.00, depending upon what the biopsy revealed. Turns out the growth was benign and I would be at the low end of the estimate and possibly even less. After the surgery I went to big up my dog. Again the billing needed to be completed prior to the dog being brought out front, despite my dog whining in the back and me directly asking if they would bring him out. To this request I was just ignored. I received the bill and much to my surprise it reflected the highest range of the estimate even though the scope of the surgery was done with the simpler approach. Again I questioned the bill and received the same response as my first visit. I paid, got my dog and went home feeling so taken advantage of and mad at myself for not trusting my instincts from the first visit. This is a Vet I will never go to again, I'm back to my original vet even though they are 10 miles away.
