Orchards Pet Hospital is my normal veterinary office, but tonight since I had an after-hours emergency I called Southway Animal Clinic because I (mistakenly) though they were the big veterinary office in town and that they'd likely have an after-hours vet on staff at their office for emergencies. I placed the call to Southway at 8:16 P.M. and the answering service told me that Dr. Meyers at Riverview was on-call for the night and that Dr. Meyers would call me after he (the receptionist) gave him the message. Thinking he would call back shortly I started driving to Clarkston. When I still hadn't gotten a call back at 8:40 P.M. I called Orchards Pet Hospital (which I should have done from the start!). The same answering service receptionist answered and told me that he would relay the message to the person on call at Orchards Pet Hospital. About 60 seconds later I got a call back from Wendy at Orchards Pet Hospital. I told Wendy about the symptoms my dog was having and she called Dr. Ponozzo to have her come down and meet me. I was freaked out because my dog was showing all the signs of having a "twisted stomach" (gastric dilatation volvulus) which can be fatal. Wendy and Dr. Ponozzo promptly met me at Orchard Pet Hospital and checked him out. From now on if I feel like my dog may be experiencing something that could be fatal, I'll only call Orchards! The (over) 20 minutes I waited for a call back from the on-call doctor for Southway was brutal because I was so worried that my dog may die. If any readers are wondering, he ended up having swallowed a whole rawhide roll. He was walking like he was disoriented and like he was stepping on glass, short of breath, salivating, exhibiting signs of extreme tiredness, acting like he was about to collapse, and had a hard stomach. Needles to say I was freaked out! I'm so glad I saw Wendy and Dr. Ponozzo tonight! As a side note, I also take my dog to Orchards to be boarded and he loves it. They take the "boarders" outside to a backyard area a few times a day when they are being boarded which is great because then I know that it's unlikely that my dog will have to be kept in an area that he "went" in. He always runs straight to the door when we get out of the truck and is always so happy to see all of the staff members! *Sorry for any spelling/grammatical errors, it's almost 11 P.M. and the pup and I had a long night!

My dog Jack had a abscessed tooth, we brought him in and they got him in the same day to pull his tooth. The staff was very professional and informing. He even got a bath and his nails clipped (which was a nice surprise!) I would recommend going to Orchards Pet Hospital! They will take care of your pet like its their own!

The staff is very nice. and the Vets seem to be be very knowledgeable and tell it how it is, which I like. My Min Pin is a very happy camper. The shots they gave him went very well, they did it in such a way that he didnt even notice. (and he hates needles). Thanks Orchards!

I arrived on time for our appointment and had to wait over 45 minutes before we were even seen. The staff was moderately friendly, but extremely critical of my cat (the style of his tag, his carrier, things that don't actually matter). I called once with a question and was given a ridiculous answer that even the people at PETCO couldn't believe. I only give 3 stars because my cat hasn't had any adverse effects to the shot he was given there.
