My dog and cat receive excellent care here. All the staff relate well both to pets and to owners, and I appreciate Dr. Alpert's calm, thoughtful personality. She's given me good advice when I've had to call her frantically in the middle of the night (like when the dog got into a sack of chocolate). I also very much appreciate that there's never pressure to purchase pet food or other things from the clinic--although they have food, treats, supplements, and other things available at competitive prices if I ask. (Got a cat hair problem? They recommended a tool that REALLY helps!)
We love Community Animal Hospital. Our vet is wonderful to our pup. We adopted him through the Idaho Falls Shelter and were reffered to CAH as their Pocatello partner. We are so grateful for their expertise and honesty. We need that as first-time dog owners. We recommend CAH and wouldn't take our dog anywhere else.
My dog loves to go see the "girls" at CAH. They are so nice to him, even if he is a 100lb hyper puppy. I really trust CAH. The prices are more than fair.
Great staff! I took my cat in to Community for his check up and shots. Dr. Alpert was not only very nice but she was also very knowledgeable and addressed all of my concerns quickly and efficiently, getting my cat and I in and out so it was very easy on him. The facilities are really nice and I never felt rushed or uncomfortable, everyone was really friendly. We'll definitely be going back!
Our dog hurt herself on a Sat and our vet was not on call. We were put in touch with the Dr. at Community Animal Hospital. I have had to pay emergency vet fees a few times in the past. It is hard to pay the extra, but when your animal is pain or has a serious medical problem you pay it. The usual fee in our community seems to be around $100 on top of the office visit charge. I was told the emergency fee would be $160. I was a little frustrated with the extra fee. She told me I didn't have to bring her if I didn't want to, it was my choice, but if I did I would be required to pay it up front. She was very cold and showed no compassion towards my dog who was crying in the background. I don't think she wanted her Sat to be interrupted. I just couldn't bring myself to take her there. I called Bannock Animal Medical Center instead and received the care my dog deserved. It cost me almost $400 including xrays and a morphine injection ($100 ER fee, $50 office visit, $90 for the first xray and $45 for the second, $48 for the injection) but it was worth it.
